Ep 28: Gongsun Yin is out looking for the princess's shoes, he then repairs them. BLACKSMITHING! Xie Zheng is making Fan Changyu's knives to the most DRAMATIC music (he learned this skill in My Journey to You). Xie Zheng is told that the knives have to be tempered with blood so they don't harm their user. So of course he uses them on himself.

Boa'er! He's still on the run and he's so smart. He figures out from wagon wheel width that they can go ask for refuge with the Xie army. He also wants to save his mom.
Fan Changning recognizes the fried fish because Xie Zheng made it for her before (aw). Tutor Tao comes to visit them and he says Changning has a very important fate which is why she is sickly as a child, but she'll be fine as long as she stays with her sister. He tells her about adopting her as his goddaughter, but Fan Changyu says it won't help her much and she wants to gain merit on her own. Eventually she accepts and Tutor Tao is so happy!
He gives her a courtesy name, Shanjun (I'm pretty sure these are usually only given to men of high status, so big deal). He says it means "fierce tiger of the mountains." I can't remember if this is in both the drama and novel, but he also gave Xie Zheng his courtesy name so now he's done the whole couple. As they watch the funeral pyre for the soldiers who died, Fan Changyu says she wants to go home instead of engaging in more war. First, she wants to find Yu Qianqian and her son.
Okay, so Fan Changyu consulted the princess on how to leave and this is the best she came up with? That was never gonna work! The letter should have been longer at the very least...
She's run off with her Pig Butcher Squad (we'll ignore that they are deserting). Xie Zheng tries to convince her to stay, but she doesn't want to use his status to complete her goals. She does say that she likes him, as either Yan or Xie Zheng.
They part after a disappointing kiss. Gongsun Yin delivers the repaired shoes to the princess but she's terse with him. He then starts coughing up blood for real. Gongsun Yin is about to say something to the princess but gets called away to see Xie Zheng.

The princess finds out he was the one who reported her to her mother. She leaves in a huff. The army heads for Lucheng.
There is a very tense Sui family reunion. Prince Changxin blames Sui Yuanhuai of the defeat and Sui Yuanqing's capture/injuries. Sui Yuanqing defends his brother as being loyal, but he is so, so wrong.
Bao'er is running from Sui Yuanhuai's men and blows his whistle from Changning. He is saved by Xie Zheng. Both kids are safe, let's hope that last a little while...
Stop putting my cuties in danger!
Sui Yuanhuai goes to visit Yu Qianqian, who offers him soup (is it Danger Soup?) It is not poisoned this time!
She's really bringing the toxins to a toxic relationship
Xie Zheng has Bao'er and Zhao Xun. He is told for sure that Sui Yuanhuai is the son of the former crown prince, not actually a Sui.
Extra scene: Apparently there was a much steamier scene than we were shown. Crimes!
We FINALLY get two episodes tomorrow, everyone rejoice!
