My Style & Roleplay Guidelines. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MESSAGING ME.

Please don't throw out a starter in your first message unless you're exceptionally confident. It makes me tremendously guilty to read something you've put lots of effort into, only to realize we're not a good match and reject you. I'd rather we discuss expectations and interests, then begin writing.
Please send me 3 writing samples from previous RPs you've worked on. My recent shares exhibit my writing style and I always want to see how my potential partner writes to preliminarily evaluate chemistry. If you have no posting history, I will request 5 samples to aid my judgement. If you don't provide writing samples in your opening message, I'll interpret it as you not taking me seriously.
My default is using Discord for OOC with a Google Doc for the RP. I won't write in Reddit Chat; don't even ask. I write long term. When I'm free, 1 message a day can be expected. When I'm busy, perhaps every 2-4 days. I range from 6-10 paragraphs depending on the scene's demands. 1st or 3rd person, past tense. I'm comfortable writing with people who take extensive time to respond and sometimes I take just as long to respond. Many writers who I've worked with are ones who I've been working with for months and delays don't bother me, even picking up stories multiple months after our last correspondence. Keep this in mind when contacting me, we never know what life throws at us.
I look for writers that want to write a story together. Unfortunately, I've met many writers that will indefinitely write their direct reactions and nothing afterwards, making me feel that I'm solely carrying the story. Although it's fine to occasionally take a backseat in piloting the story, RP is a two person collaboration, not a solo venture.
Sometimes I'll throw my partner unexpected narrative 'curveballs' to keep them on their toes. On the flip side, I might ask in OOC, "Hey, I want to write X scene with X elements, if you think that's good, would you mind moving your character here and responding in a certain way?" Likewise, if you can surprise me, that's huge points in my book: it always brings a smile to my face whenever someone throws something at me I wasn't expecting.
Character Control: How do you feel about me occasionally moving your character around? While I won't speak or think for them, it'd help the RP's flow if I could move them from one place to another or have them do logically consistent, simple tasks. Example: your character is getting coffee and not in the middle of a significant action. If I want to initiate an interaction with your character without interrupting the flow, I would have to move my character closer toward yours, wait for your character to finish their coffee, then begin the interaction, using three messages. Ideally, I could simply write out my character witnessing yours finish their coffee, then have my character begin the interaction in a single message. If you've actually read this tip, whether you agree with my opinion on it or not, mention the phrase 'Gold Experience' for bonus points. Of course, this improves as we gain familiarity/chemistry, but I find the best RPs allow this freedom.
Criticism: Don't be afraid to criticize. Anything that impacts your satisfaction impacts mine. Especially with 5., sometimes when I get too overzealous/excited and push 5., overriding my partner's agency and they need to tell me to slow down. Speak up! This is a story for both of us, not me dragging you along for the ride.
If my prompt interests you, I'd like to hear your thoughts on how you'd like to see it played out: events, characters, relationships, etc. While I have my own ideas that I'm willing to share, I insist on first hearing my partner's thoughts without my interference as they might've thought of something I didn't and I don't want to influence their brainstorming.
References: I typically write out character descriptions, but I have nothing against drawn or AI-generated references.
Lastly, I have a personal policy where the person responding to the prompt writes out a starter, which I consider a gesture of good faith/courtesy. I provide the starter to prompts I respond to so I've come to expect it when the roles are reversed. Please do not do this without approaching me in OOC so we can touch base as for some prompts I might prefer to write the starter depending on the scenario even if it's my prompt you're responding to.

Why don't you have more past works? I'm very picky as to what I upload as a lot of what I write either fizzles out before it's reached a satisfying length or out of respect for my partner's wishes at keeping it private, despite my willingness to share it.
