Feminism IS a good thing, but more specifically it's the advocacy of women's rights. RABID feminism can also be seen as a good thing; rabid means to be very strongly in support of something, so rabid feminism can be simply a person who is a very strong advocate for women's rights. Now you may feel "rabid feminism" is derogatory because you've seen the current state of feminism, but remember that this is the oxford dictionary: the definition of a rabid feminist is someone who very strongly advocates for women's rights.
Now this is where it gets confusing: the oxford guy's first tweet is using the white knight's "complaint about rabid feminism being used as an example of rabid" AS an example of rabid feminism... because it clearly is an example of the rabid feminist that the white knight is complaining about. He didn't SAY anything outright positive or negative about feminism, he simply used this meta example as the highest quality bait.
Another SJW took it, and he managed to get HER to admit that no one refers to rabid feminism in a good way. He, on the other hand, gets to both explain that rabid _____ is a neutral term (and why feminism, a historically important thing, is used as the example) AND he gets to claim that he wishes for more positive views on feminism! What a great guy, right?
Basically in the cramped space of three twitter posts, the PR person managed to make an insult on current feminism, manipulate two SJWs into insulting themselves, make oxford look like strong advocates for neutral feminism, AND explain the first guy's question, all without being angry or using the usual cynicism and hostility, and all while his logic checks out perfectly, leaving zero room for complaints. It's the kind of incredible manipulation that writers spend months on.

The only reason rabid feminism is a bad thing is because feminism is bad & rabid is an amplifier, for example "rabid philanthropy" would be a good thing because philanthropy is a good thing, same with "rabid charity."

I've seen some feminists defend that definition because according to their definitions (where they defined rape as penetrating somebody instead of just non-consensual sex), men are the ones who typically commit rape, so it's just a true example.

The example of rabid isn't bad, since rabid doesn't have to be negative. You could be a rabid Gamer, Trekkie etc.
They do have a point about the rest of the examples. There's definitely some sexism there. It's not Oxford Dictionary's fault though - they take their examples from lots of real world examples.

Was watching the soccer last night. A team called the Western Sydney Wanderers were playing away but their fans traveled in such numbers that they outnumbered the home fans. Their support for their club has been described as rabid and they're fucking proud of it. Another example of SJWs creating battlegrounds were none previously existed.

It's not the definitions but the chosen examples of those definitions.
E.g. "asshole" wouldn't be sexist in definition but it would be sexist to have the example be "I've never met a woman who wasn't an asshole, or an asshole who wasn't a woman".

I follow the twitter of a lot of indie artists and game developers. There is a good atmosphere and ideas get exchanged and so on. I always say this, but no social media platform is all bad; if you get a good group of intelligent, interesting people using it then it can be great.

"Feminists" like to talk about how feminism is for men too. Yet whenever they refer to male feminists they always add in that qualifier. Surely theres no need for "male feminist" any more than "woman doctor" or "female pilot"
If feminism is a male thing too and a man is a feminist he should just be called a feminist.
That or they call them "allies" which is even worse. Because the term ally indicates someone who is not part of the group but still supports it. So they openly either forcibly differentiate them or just deny them the title Feminist.
