Take Apart The Corners Of My Love
#Take Apart The Corners Of My Love
Take apart the corners of my love. Round
off the edges. Sand and smooth every plane
to better suit your comfortableness.
Shave down my hard, abrasive splinters and
splice in soft whispers, warm kisses, cool
fingertips tracing the places where your
wings should sprout, start’ling and impossible
from each shoulder-blade. Take apart the corners
of my love. Heal the wounds from lovers past.
Show me there's a future without loss, where
hope is not a lie that gets you killed, where
desire is met with desire and both
fulfilled. Take apart the corners of my
love, my love. Stand with me on street-corners
and hold my hand without looking ashamed.
Order obnoxious food at restaurants
and laugh when I love my chocolate oysters.
Come with me to my father's funeral
and hold my hair while I puke my heartache
into the hotel toilet. Take apart
the corners of me –
replace them all with you.
