Lore Power Level Analysis: Rakan, the Charmer
What’s up guys it’s me KatarHero (or Hyper10sion) back with a pair of Lore Power Level assessments of the Rift’s star crossed lovers: Xayah and Rakan. This particular analysis focuses on Rakan, but Xayah’s can be viewed here.
Just like with Galio, who’s analysis you can find here, I am going to analyze Rakan in five categories: Makeup, Physical Abilities, Magical Abilities, Weaknesses, and Feats. I will then place him into one of my five tier lists, explaining the placement as well.
#Rakan, the Charmer
Makeup: Rakan is of the Vastayan race, a species of shape shifting animal-human hybrids, in tune with the magicks of the world. They can shape shift, use magicks unlike that of humans, and have extreme longevity. They are still vulnerable to standard weapons and magical attacks, but they are certainly stronger than the average human.
Physical Abilities: Rakan is an extremely capable warrior, channeling a Deadpool-like way of fighting in a comedic fashion that surprisingly works. He is extremely agile, able to dodge gunfire and weave through a hail of arrows with ease, and possesses the strength to take on multiple enemies at once. The gunfire feat is particularly notable, as this would mean he is reacting in less than 5 milliseconds, and moving at a speeds around 71.5265 meters per second, which is 160 miles per hour. This puts his reaction time at around fifty times faster than the average human. Combine this with his unorthodox fighting style based in Vastayan dance, he is wildly unpredictable on the battlefield.
Magical Abilities: As a Vastayan, Rakan has several magical aspects to his arsenal. He channels his magical energy through his trademark gold cloak, which may or may not be part of his body, it is unclear based upon the lore. He can create a small whirlwind to send someone flying into the air, and according to his own thoughts, can change the color of gold. He can also create a magical barrier strong enough to support massive stones as seen in the recent teaser.
Weaknesses: Rakan might be a better physical specimen than the standard human warrior, but he still has the same weaknesses. If he ever slips up and manages to be hit by a stray blade, bullet, or arrow, his goose is cooked.
Feats: Rakan managed to avoid point blank gunfire and weave through a hail of arrows with absolute ease, as he was more focused on trying to think up of a clever name for a gun in the meantime. He once sent a man flying into the air high enough to spin twelve times. He also was agile enough to dodge an entire castle’s worth of soldiers, giving Xayah enough time to free some trapped Vastayans.
#Summary:
Rakan is quite the capable warrior, able to hold his own with any non-magical fighter in Runeterra. His sheer speed is unreal, matching that of your average Power Ranger, way beyond anything achievable by a human. Combining this with his magical abilities makes Rakan a force to be reckoned with, worthy of the Sorcerer subclass of the Magus tier.
Tier: Magus Tier (Sorcerer Subtier)
Did I overrate Rakan? Did I underrate him? Talk to me about it in the comments. If you want to see the original lore power levels, they are: God, Transcended, Harbinger, Magus, and Mortal
