I was hoping that was the name of a new drink.
That would be a great name for a cocktail!
I think you just invented it.

Yesssss…
I neglected to measure the diameter of my glasses before ordering a new set of ice molds.
Now I can’t decide if I should get smaller ice cubes or bigger glasses...
Just carve them
That’s exactly what I did. I ended up with an Old Fashioned on the rocks instead of on the rock.
Nonono. Carve the glasses.
I like the way you think
You could still make it into a big rock, just got to chip at the edges, make it kinda like an octogon. Save the shavings and make a julep or a mule.
Bigger glasses, obvs.
You should get both!
Spin it and it will fit
Now that's a good trick!
"If you shake it, they will come."
I should have thought of that
You could also run it under hot water for a few seconds. That will do the trick. If you’re worried about too much dilution because of a wet ice cube, throw it back in the freezer for 5 minutes. That shit will turn into ice.
That shit will turn into ice made me laugh way out loud.
Nah, the white ice and brown liquor are being kept separate, that's definitely Trump.
This comment is way underrated, I wish I had a hundred more upvotes to give you
At my bar we have glasses that won’t fit a full king cube...we just fill the mold up 3/4 of the way so that it’ll fit.
For those looking to buy the glass or something similar, check here.
These glasses are also utterly thicc. I’ve dropped a fair few and it’s the floor that’s come worse off.
Thanks for the link. We got them at a small shop in Amsterdam and I don’t remember the name of the place or brand/manufacturer of the glasses.
Get an ice pick or just whack 'em a bit with a bread knife to shave down the corners. They'll fit and you'll get more interesting organic shapes while you're at it.
I have the mallet and canvas sack. I definitely need to get an ice pick for when I don’t need to go full Asgardian.
Where did you find that glass? Was at a restaurant in Paris this week where they had exactly the same one and would love to get one for myself. They have a wonderful weight to them.
Glass is by Libbey and that one is the Hobstar. They are very widely used in the cocktail business as they look pretty flash, are fairly inexpensive but most importantly are almost indestructible. To be honest they so standard I kind of hate them now. :-0
Thanks, I saw it for the first time the other day and really liked it. Will probably just get one for myself. My family prefers minimalist glasses without all design.
You're welcome. They're widely available and are usually sold individually or in sets. Check out Spiegelau and Nachtmann "Highland" glasses too - I much prefer them and they are about the same price. You get a set with 4 different designs. Available in Europe - don't know about US though. Oh, look they're even on sale! Edit: link added.
Yes, thanks for the information. We got them while visiting Amsterdam a few years back. They were, in fact, sold individually and we bought 4 different patterns.
They are meant to look like cut glass and they do have a nice weight to them.

Sorry about your ice, but I love that glass. Do you have any information on it so I could find it to purchase? Thanks!
Where did you get that sign on the wall?
My wife bought from someone on Etsy (you can see it on Pinterest if you search the text of the banner), but I’m not sure who the seller was.
I realize this is just a picture, but you should probably put the ice in the glass first, unless you want to splash out all the goodness in the glass as you plop an iceberg into it.
Another point well made.
For some reason I thought it would be smart to mix all the ingredients before the ice took up so much room. Jokes on me...
sign is very apt.
It seems to be appropriate for most of the situations in which I find myself.
