Without negativity, what general political alignments do my fellow INFJs have and why?

I’m really curious as to how differences in experience and character shape people’s perspectives, especially since I literally have never met another INFJ in person.

I used to be more liberal because I believe in the benefit of people as the center of government but when a libertarian leaning friend introduced me to their beliefs I became less worried about The Law and more concerned with everyone being able to live their own way.

What about you guys? And be nice to each other.

Very left-leaning. I look at the Scandinavian countries and think they’re doing it right, by providing great public services and reducing the constant “survival mode” typical of being below the poverty line. I have a huge defensive instinct for vulnerable/struggling people, and the more I’ve learned about politics, the further away from the right I’ve gone.

Very anti-authoritarian.

I find myself at odds with both liberals and conservatives. I feel like they’re two wings to the same bird and parrot the same shit, just with different words.

I see the political scene as more rich vs poor, with most of technology and “the system” on the side of the rich as a means of SUBJUGATING the poor.

Pretty similar to this. I’m def hardcore leftie. Sick of the charade that is the Democrats and Republicans and mainstream political machine.

We need an alternative urgently.

Or maybe we just need the Dems to start being what they're supposed to be and stop letting greedy narcissists rise in their ranks. Their platform is on target, it's just that the wrong kind of ppl are attracted to positions of power and the right kind (humble, wise and caring) don't lower themselves to lying & charming the masses to get elected. There are some good ones in the Democratic ranks, we just need to support them & get rid of the ones that cater to lobbiests.

Nah. Dems ain’t shit and haven’t been shit for a long time.

Anti-Socialist. Anti-Communist. Anti-Collectivism. Leave me alone, let me keep what I earn, give me the freedom to grow and expand a business, spend my money how I wish, and live the way I like providing I am not stealing from and physically harming others.

I agree with left-leaners on some issues, righties on others. Call it libertarian or Constitutionalist or whatever. Like most, I don’t think I fit into a predetermined bucket.

Politics these days is highly toxic. Good on you for having the guts to post this question. :-)

Typically lean left (especially when it comes to environment and climate change). Moderate on a few issues. I have mostly voted for democrats and independents.

same with me, if i were going to label my political leaning at all, this would be the closest.

Left-centrist in practice. But I always score super left-anti-authoritarianism on those internet tests. Ideals don’t matter if you can’t make them work.

Oh and I really like all those studies that show conservatives have over-active right amygdala, making them super fear oriented. Fear causes people to make terrible decisions much of the time, in my opinion.

You're on Reddit so expect very skewed results.

Right leaning

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that there's at least a substantial libertarian component. I thought it was going to be leftists all the way down.

(For the record, I lean left myself, depending on the issue.)

Anti war. No need to fight and kill in this day and age. We should accept everyone for who they are and foster a world that promotes helping eachother and people of different walks of life. We are all human but for some reason people can think they are better or worse than someone bases off the luck they recieved when they were born or just throughout life.

Fuck racism

Money controls the lives of too many when so few people have disgusting amounts of wealth that needs to shared way more evenly. People thing money determines their status and somehow that actually means something about you as a person and its disgusting. I understand capitalism and it has great aspects but the rich get richer and the masses suffer from money controlled politics, corporate interests, and nepotism.

Education is unequal and once you get to a certain point its about how much money you have for tutors and connections for good schools and parents knowing the system. It should be merit based and everyone should have access to extra resources for learning or be encouraged to take up a trade in which they can excel at which is somehow looked down on. People go to extreme lengths for an extra couple thousand dollars when they could be happier just doing something much better suited but many of these people are running on the fear of not having enough money which or not knowimg thier options or even knowing plans are financially sustainable.

I have the same views as you! The feeling I get from this world is “the controlling” and “brain washing.” Money and power status haunts me, government/politics, the media, and I feel the evil and manulpulation from it. Working like zombies for big cooperations, but hey the money is “enough” to pay over and over again!

Thank you for expressing those views, I believe in the same. :)

Libertarian... there seem to be a lot of us here and it’s kind of exciting to me!

I know right?! I feel like libertarianism is a natural conclusion for INFJs to both empower people and also stick to a moral/philosophical code. That’s at least what it appeals to in me

6
Lemmie_Winks•

I lean more the way of libertarianism. I'm really moderate with most things. Politics irritate me mostly lol.

I would describe myself as a right libertarian. Maybe even ancap. Lately though I've gotten totally sick of politics and political theory.

I'm liberal, progressive, or left-libertarian, depending on one's definition of both. I look for truth and reality in life, and I'm not afraid to question authority or the status quo if I think their policies are unfair or cruel. I look out for and care about others unless they prove they don't deserve it. Even then, I wouldn't hate them, since I realize they are a product of nature and/or nurture. I would avoid (door slam) them, though, and fight back against their bad policies, if feasible.
I dislike over-competitiveness and extreme selfishness. I despise right-libertarianism bc it champions and exonerates both the afore-mentioned behaviors. I am not a proponent of conservatism, which promotes hierarchy and a fear of change. While I might be labeled a progressive, the truth is that I don't want change for change's sake. I only wish to change things when it makes rational sense. BTW, left-libertarians and liberals are usually fine with weed, and we like freedom, but we realize we're social animals and there are some things we should work together on if we want a good environment and life.

Feared77OP•

Well cooperation of communities is a central tenant of libertarianism to make things work without needing to design a new government program for every minor issue. I’m a straight down the middle libertarian and agree with you on all those points

I'm definitely left-leaning with some libertarian philosophies. I have qualms with all four major American parties, so I probably exist in some sort of twilight zone between the democratic and libertarian parties.

Also I'm more of an INFX, in case that has any impact. I'm almost 50-50 on P vs J, only very slightly preferring P, and I'm only like 60 - 40 in my F preference as well.

I don't feel I can align to any particular political party or ideology... so I guess I am anarchist?

Constitutionalist, Libertarian. I believe in freedom, we the people are our own authorities, and do unto others as you would have them do to you.
