Bug: Hovering over an item and then closing the inventory in-raid will cause you to drop said item the next time you discard something from your inventory

I lost a marked key to this just now, be careful guys.
To make it a bit clearer, what I am doing is just placing my cursor over an item, then closing my inventory and repeating this until I discard an item, which drops every item I had hovered.
Update: I think I've found the real cause for this bug. I've tested it a bunch now and I can only get it to trigger by opening a pop up menu of the container, like the WT rig. I even got it working with just the Gamma case with loose items in it. The bug seems to only trigger if you double click any container to open it, regardless of it being your vest, your backpack, a second backpack that you have inside the first one etc, and then hover over loose items and closing the inventory. So I guess it's a bug with opening your containers mid-raid.

I think the real bug is phantom or desync mouse clicks that don't get registered by the server till you do an action, like throwing an item.
If your dragging meds and applying them quickly your mouse icon disappears and you start grabbing random stuff.

Maybe, but this is the only way I've ever been able to trigger this bug, and it works no matter how fast or slow you are, so my bet is that this is a separate bug.

So that's how it works! I thought it was just the last item that you interacted with. So, does this only happen when you use a discard hotkey, or will it happen when you right click and press discard from the menu as well?

Didn't think to try it, actually. Haven't right clicked to discard outside of the stash in a long time. I'll give it a go when I get home

So, I tried it out. Right click > Discard seems to actually work just fine, no issues with multiple items dropping.

I lost my keybar with my factory exit, marked room, customs office, etc. to this glitch. Hopefully my insurance returns bring it back.
Do you think BSG would reclaim those for me if they don't get returned or is that beyond them?

That blows, they should be able to roll it back selectivly.
Wish they would do that for people who lost their keybars, that's a wipe long grind for some of those items.

u/trainfender Any updates on this infuriating bug? Almost lost my keybar, and lost a docs case with keys. Wont be getting the docs back as RIP 200K+ Insurance. Maybe the keys unless a scav found it.

Do you have to be hovering over the item when you close the inventory? or just have hovered at some point?
so would a work around be just not closing your inventory with your cursor on an item?

Yes, your cursor needs to be hovering over an item when you close it for it to happen, you can safely move your cursor over items as long as you dont exit the inventory while hovering over one.
Also, as far as I can tell there's no way to "undo" the hovering, so if you accidentally do it you should just drop the item and try to not do it again.

That explains how a hat I had grabbed disappeared from my inventory. I had no idea why it happened but I think this is it.

Fantastic find! I saw posts about people losing their keybars, this is exactly it.
Fuck it... I´ve seen that earlier today.
It dopped an MP5 ouf my backback for no reason.
Now I´m missing my keybar and thought that I lost it that way. Then I searched for that bug... now I´m here.. fuuuuuck.
For example my own keybar i lose 2 days ago. :( Nice find.
Same. Thankfully I got it back in insurance.
