Seriously, 137 pages 12 listings at a time! A bunch of of it was DLC for MGS V. No way to filter by system, type, or price. Just alphabetical order, release date (what's the point?) or price high/low. Hopefully Sony gets their act together some day.

I just ended up looking on PSDeals and scrolling until I found something that was already on the sale to find the new stuff.
Also, sorting by price is useless in a sale, because PSN only reads the standard price, not the sale price.
I've been bitching to PSBlog about this for YEARS. PSN needs an update bad. Its years overdue.
It's not their fault. The original coders have moved on and are now working at the DMV and Comcast.

I always sort by price high - low just so I can see the biggest discounts. Also seeing the stuff the normally charge £100+ for is good for a laugh.

I look at it through the internet browser on my phone. I don't think there's any app on android that does the same. Still better than PSN though.
r/PS4Deals is what I use. Anytime there's a sale someone formats it into an easily readable table.

Yeah, I get alerts several days after the sale starts, or never, even for wish list items.
The only major issue I’ve had is that often a game is listed twice. You need to make sure you sign up to the right one, as only one is current and reflects sales etc.

You can filter by system, price range or genre from your ps4. Its on the left right above the first games.

Yeah, no biggie. Kind of annoying they create a whole separate design philosophy for sales, when the original store design works so well with filters and stuff.
I made the mistake of using it on PS4 one time and I was halfway with the huge sale list of games and something happened and took me to the top of the list again! 😂😒

Yeah, I think it could be good for Sony as far as promoting their own brand as well. Trophies for PS Now, PS Plus, “Movie Night!” trophy for renting a movie through the store “Yard Sale” trophy for buying a game on sale.

There is a filter in the store lol. I usually put “full game only” I think it’s called.
If you're using the website and viewing the special event sales page, it doesn't have the filters unfortunately.

PSN actually has a lot to learn from Steam. I would like the wishlist feature to be implemented in the console and when the product goes on sale, we would receive a notification or an email. Besides that there are other features i would like to see like the reviews, the items and the profile level and customization.

I suppose the answer is just that I wanna be able to boot up the game whenever I want instead of using the disc. I bought the dlc for it. The complete edition also has the dlc.

Yep, even the web version of the store is useless for these sales.
The only thing I look at anymore are threads made on Reddit where u/weebae has compiled the list of games and prices in alphabetical order.
Sometimes I copy and paste the weebae comments into a spreadsheet so I can sort them. Kind of a pain but pretty useful.

Playstation has needed a user interface update since PS3 launched... never got why every one loved that horizontal menu so much. its such a pain to find everything and too many folders and menus if you like to keep things organized instead of scrolling forever
Xbox and Sony are polar opposites and it’s annoying af. As someone who has both. Xbox changes their homepage like once a damn year, and PS hasn’t changed since last Gen it seems. That being said, I 100% prefer the Xbox ui over PS. It’s inconvenient and outdated
Lol at one point turning my Xbox on became a game in itself just to see what the daily system UI overhaul would look like. No clue how they got permission to change it so frequently

I keep a list of all the games I'm interested in on my wishlist. Then, when there's a sale, I just scroll through that.
i still brwose through sales because i often find interesting games that i have never heard of before. this sale there's a game called "earth's dawn" for example for just 3€ instead of 20. it looks like odin sphere and king's crown or muramasa. cant tell yet if it's worth it but i like finding hidden gems...
I found uncanny valley for 2 bucks and a game called siralim for a buck if I remember correctly don't know if they are any good but what do I have to loose also RE games on sale to if you are into that

Not surprising. Have you ever tried browsing for a theme? No sort options, page upon page of garbage, and it makes the store lag until you close out completely. It's embarrasing and I don't know why Sony doesn't take better care of their storefront.

If you’re in the store on the PS4, you can use the filters! I personally like to search on “Full games only”, that way the results will show only full games and no DLC!

Agree, if the game bundles with a season pass it might not show, much in the same way hiding paid DLC for a game can hide all of it if even 1 item was paid. It’s screwy, even low to high is a mess because it doesn’t filter to current price consistently.
my favorite part about the store is when i’m in the ps plus section or a sale section looking for a cheap game to pick up, but ever other third line has a full priced game sitting there. why.
After you filter for whole games. Then filter for bundles. You could also click on the game you like to see if you can find a bundle of it too.
Even filtering from low price to high doesn't even work. There's a two-dollar game and right next to it there's an eleven-dollar game to the right of a six-dollar game in one row with the filter on. The filters rarely work as they're intended.
The issue is the filter sorts by original price which during a sale can be pointless.

Most of the times, but on some sales, like the one the OP is talking about, you can't get to that filter.

Not sure if the sale page is region specific or something, but if you access the store on PS4, you can go to the January sale, and then along the top you have “Filter” and “Sort”, filter lets you pick a genre, content type, platform or price filter. Sort let’s you sort on the usual stuff like price asc/desc. I’m on the Aus/UK stores and both have this option, does yours not?

There was no filtering on the sale. You can filter the normal store but if you actually click on rhe sale page you can only filter by psvr, exclusives, 2018 releases, or budget friendly deals. I was looking for PS3 games too and you can't buy those on the ps4 store
If you’re referring to the January sale which is still going, then (in the Aus store on PS4 at least) you go to “See all”, “Add filter” and this should let you search for content type, game type, game genre, platform and price - are you not able to do the same?

At least you can see all the games the fucking age restriction took 10 of the 20 best games of the year off the store completely for me so it probably took like half that list too be greatful lol
The filters are crap too. Select one and the others drop off. I'm trying to narrow the list down using multiple filters at once and instead all I can do is use one at a time and end up just picking the one that gets me closest and searching through multiple pages.
