A Call Under Pressure

Feedback Request

What is love? Walking resolutely away from the house, phone pressed to ear, "I'm so glad you called, we've missed you here. Please do tell me everything."

On hold is another call, from an old foe, the Bladder; that pressure, that need, familiar yet feared. What were you thinking, walking away from home? When a far-away friend wants to talk, you talk, without interruption for merely the body's sake.

The needs of the soul are too great.

I can’t get over this poem. You used something nasty and taboo to make me think about the philosophy of the body versus the mind. And the nasty bit forces you to think of the entire body, by not romanticizing you’ve made me look at even the non-romantic parts.
I like the bluntness of your language and the brevity of the moment. You described in detail a moment that lasted a couple seconds, and you did a lot with it.
