The little boxes at the top of every page need to disappear immediately

Not only are the ugly and break the page layout on Chrome (still), they both advertise for shit that is (frankly) completely against the thrust of what MFA is about.

Screen printed T-shirts and badly fit "formal wear" that comes in S/M/L are bad enough when they're listed as a sponsored link on the sidebar. When you put them as colored boxes at the top of every page, it's like MFA is officially endorsing this shit.

It needs to disappear yesterday. Get rid of it. Now.

I never even knew they were there, as I have "allow reddits to show me custom styles" turned off.

The downside is that subreddits that use things like spoiler tags and such won't work, but the upside is that reddit is consistent from subreddit to subreddit and you're not at the whims of some mod's bad taste.

Neither can I. I don't ever recall a box at the top of the page. There's the stuff on the right but that's pretty unobtrusive and helpful.

Ok, heres the deal:

  1. WE ARE NOT MAKING MONEY FROM ADVERTISING. Nor are we accepting any free items.

  2. I dunno why it's broken, seems to work fine for me in all of my browsers.

  3. It's going down.

  4. When the offer from MtG was brought to us, we debated whether or not to allow it (since it kinda does go against...), but we decided to go ahead and accept since it was a popular deal last time.

the mods here are ... eh. i remember one said he kept a pocket square in his back pocket. also the mods ask some pretty basic questions. that's all OK with me, as long as they do their job, but they also do shit like erase posts without any real justification.

I don't keep pocket squares in my back pocket... it's a hankerchief, and my shirt normally covers it up, it's there for easy access!

No post ahs been erased without any justification. It may have been caught in the spam filter, and we do go in and clear them out.

Dunno what's wrong with your chrome, it doesn't bust up the layout of the page for me.

But yeah, I'm not going to miss those boxes once they're gone.

I do use the Reddit Enhancement Suite though. Dunno if that makes a difference.

Just installed RES, and GreaseMonkey, thanks for the head's up. Just threw this together. It makes those ads disappear.

I agree completely. I would rail against ed hardy, affliction and anything similar till the end of my days. To see it at the top of MFA is an affront to everything that this subreddit is about.
