What is your, "I put that shit on everything"?

Is it Franks on pizza? Or that purple shit from the autoshop?
I put this shit on everything. Maggi seasoning is liquid gold, especially on fried rice (with a fried egg on top) I would be shocked not to have high blood pressure when I get older.

Mix sriracha with a side of ranch. Excellent dipping sauce for pizza, fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, and more.

Although I do like sriracha, it's only good for the heat. It has almost no flavor.

I tried this stuff for the first time two weeks ago because I saw it in the store and no one here shuts the fuck up about it so I bought it. Anyway, I put it on everything now so thanks Reddit, after all this time looking at cats and pictures of people applying ice soap, you all finally gave me something useful.

Fun fact: if you have too much salt on something, you can use butter to get rid of the taste.

I grew up in a house full of people with heart problems. We didn't even have table salt - it wasn't in the house. If it came into the house, it was usually forgotten about. My husband is now learning to cook without salt / buy low-sodium EVERYTHING because otherwise I tend not to eat it - it just tastes too strong for me.

3

Same page here, my dad had a lot of heart issues, so salt was the devil

I'll have mine with rich vanilla ice cream, thanks. The cheese thing seems more common in the north-eastern U.S. states.

2
StoryGopherOP•

My great grandma on my moms side did it and she was born in Britain. And my dad's mom does it and she was born something like 7th generation in Newfoundland.

3
Calico_Dick_Fringe•

I dunno. No one I knew ever did it in Michigan when I was growing up, and I didn't hear about it until I was nearly 30 and living in another country.

Normally I'm game to try new things, but for some reason mixing savory cheese with something sweet and cinnamony just sounds kinda yuck. The pie would have to be really bland (like one of those cheap frozen apple pies) for the tastes to work well together maybe.

6
kmad•

I used to make a mix of bacon, onions and garlic, and eat my perogies swimming in it.

1
fixorater•

A burger ain't a burger w/o some nice onion on it. I've also never had that thought "this has too much garlic". I even loved the garlic ice cream I tried at the gilroy garlic festival many years back.

4
ConfusedByPans•

I once accidentally dumped way too much garlic powder (was in emergency "out of fresh garlic" mode because I literally put garlic in everything) into a pasta sauce I was making. I thought it might be too garlicky but that was the day I learned that nothing can ever be too garlicky. Eating a piece of garlic? Top that with more garlic!

No I'm way too anal about that. I try to get the sheets done once a week. I flip my bfs pillow halfway through the week when he isn't looking and I only wear shirts once before I wash them. Then I sort the clothes by colour, wash the whites and linens in hot water, the blues and reds in cold water, and line dry anything that I'm not sure about.

Febreze*

2
_Goose_•

Funny story. An acquaintance of mine had burned his leg falling into a fire while drunk. A few days later he pulled up to the basketball court we were playing at and got out to bullshit with us. He was higher than a fucking satellite. No telling what from. Definitely not weed. His leg was hurting him after a while so he decided to cool it off by pulling back the gauze and spraying febreeze over it. He instantly laid down in pain. At this point a police officer pulled up to see what was going on. After the cop talked to all of us for a while then took him to the side, he got arrested. Dumbass told His brother who was with us to come bail him out. He never did.

1

Ketchup

19
StoryGopherOP•

I'm allergic to tomatoes and for some reason ketchup is the destroyer of world for me. Skin contact causes me to break out into a horrible rash and a histamine response so intense I get cold sores. Many a time my sister has pride open the bottle with a butter knife and inadvertantly (yea right) flicked my in the face with it. And then This happens.
But an uncle of mine used to buy it by the costco can and he even put it on brownies.

16

0

Its bizarre. I'll tell you pizza sauce is probably tomato flavoured water, flour, and carmine beetles because I can drink the stuff. Except Little Ceasars which may or may not be spiced watered down ketchup.

1
fixorater•

I absolutely hate ketchup. But I'm glad so many people love it.

3

Because it will go faster in the societal apocalypse and we'll be content with miles and miles of canned beans, pumpkin pulp, and evaporated milk.

2

organic ketchup, maybe it's the real sugar, but it is literally 100% better than Heinz. btw, I'm not some hippy, I use this shit on my McDoubles

2
just_bob•

ditto.

1
BitchinIndika•

As a former professional cook, I hate you. I'd work so hard to make something taste good, and then my idiot customer would dump a half gallon of ketchup all over it before even tasting it. Fuck ketchup.

1
winENDout•

Please do not hate me sir/ma'am for I am not saying that I douse everything, merely that I could do it and not mind the overwhelming tomato-y goodness. Whenever I eat a meal that I know was painstakingly made by someone who actually tried to make it perfect then I enjoy the natural flavors that go with it. I would never ruin a good meal. Ketchup is just a flavor enhancement.

2
BitchinIndika•

There's a burger that is basically a cheeseburger with a decent amount of peanut butter on it... I forget what it's called, it has a name like other sandwiches such as a Reuben or Monte Cristo...

Anyway, it sounds rather disgusting at first, but it isn't bad. If you ever see one, give it a try. Personally, I'll probably not get one again, simply because I'd rather have a regular burger, but not at all because it tasted bad.
