Keep debating over size now for lap use

Decided I’m getting 32gb with 512 and M1 pro, but I can’t decide if the 14” or 16” will be more comfortable for lap use?

I love being able to just sit anywhere with a laptop and use it on my lap, without having to seek out a desk

If it adds to anything, I’m a student aswell, and my desk space at home isn’t all that big

I like the 16”. Of course it’s a little bulkier on the lap, but the extra screen space is so worth it. You get used to the weight pretty quickly.

In your case I think 14" is the best choice.

14 for me. It’s like the Goldilock of Macbook Pros for me. The 13 was too small. The 16 was too big but the 14 was juuuust right. lol

Use on a desk more = 16” Use on lap more = 14”

Have you actually went and tested out their sizes in person? I was also on the fence but the moment I saw the gargantuan size of the 16" in real life I immediately knew it wasn't for me.

Bigger is always better IMO. If you’re going with 32 GBs I’m assuming you plan on doing heavier tasks? If that’s the case, a larger screen will work wonders to help your eyes strain less or fit more data on. I honestly wish they made a 16 inch Air.

16 inch . Forget about the size after a week and becomes completely normal

16 is what I got and I love it. It’s chunky but the foot print is just fine.

I find the 16 perfect for lap use. My old 13 would slide off sometimes…

Yeah, I definitely recommend you to buy 16’’, I have one and it’s super easy to work with the documents on bigger screen and with video, too!

I'm a skinny guy and I don't mind having the 16" on my lap. That being said I am returning the 16" because the screen has been giving me headaches. But for portability I didn't mind it at all

What is there to debate? You don't need reddit users to tell you the 14 inch is better for lap use.

I got thick thunder thighs. I need the 16.
