Hitler was appointed, not elected. Hitler never received a majority in any election until after he got in power and held fake elections

As far as I remember Hitler/NSDAP still had to seriously game the system to get their policy through. Most notably jailing elected KPD politicians then getting votes through without them present. They weren't "fully" operating within liberal democracy, just exploiting its faults.
could you tell me more about this please
Hitler was appointed chancellor by Hindenburg (Who co-led Germany during WW1 btw). Hindenburg was the one who got elected, not Hitler.
Yeah to clear this up, Germany at the time literally didn't have elections for chancellor. Hindenburg was elected, appointed Hitler due to threats from the SA and general NSDAP even while popularity wasn't that high and then the infamous elections where the NSDAP "won at the polls" was held.
Also, do people not realize that a system that allows fucking Hitler to take power isn't effective at stopping fascism?
This doesn’t acknowledge the fact that he was appointed specifically cause he was very popular, just not enough to win the election outright
The Nazi party received a plurality in the 1933 Reichstag election, 43.9%. Von Hindenburg, who won the presidential election, agreed to a coalition government with the Nazis. Hitler did come to power through semi-legal means before becoming a true dictator.
