The Love in The Silence
Do not confuse my meekness with the easier to understand weakness.
Just because I bite my tongue does not mean that I’m speechless.
I am merely extending some grace to you instead of butting heads.
Because I do not want to break loyalty and much rather would break bread.
I see the flaws that you are not brave enough to see in yourself,
But I refuse to point them out or wish onto you bad health,
For I also am imperfect and am thankful to all that held their tongues,
Who did not wish to insult me; refused the hateful words prepared in their lungs.
You’re not perfect. I’m not perfect. Isn’t that the best?
We all keep searching for the gold yet to be found. We all carry on west.
So I keep quiet, not because I’m simple but because I’m smart enough to know,
That the flaws I see in you I also see in my mirror and hopefully with time they’ll go.
I am being loud in my silence in the kindest possible way,
My friend, I’ll focus on the good parts of you that I hope will stay.
So onward we go, a little lopsided, off into the sun.
Let us be imperfect together on this journey we’ve just begun.
