The AI algorithm for IMDB:
If score is less than 6 -> Racism detected-> Delete
Elseif score greater than 8 -> Genuine Review Detected -> Keep
What about 6 to 8?
Only if it is geniune review, AKA lack racism.
They put a team PR sensitivity experts on the case! They hand review those, discarding as the need arrises - could be some good ones in there. Gives the whole process that nice curated-vibe we all seek as consumers!
What happens if I write a review that says this show is shit but giving it 5 stars instead?
The Morbius method
A Morbed review
4D chess
I thought about that and then my principles jumped in and said - you’re not playing their game to gift them that 5. But hell yeah if you can stomach it, infiltrate away.
People did this for wheel of time.
I fucking wish programming shit was that simple
Eventually it will be
I wonder if they could be taken to court for misleading and defrauding the public. That last bullet point is what I’m looking at, the any attempts to manipulate community content. They claim profane content in your review but I sure don’t see it. So I can only conclude they’re manipulating community content.
Of course considering the state of our judicial system in the states, the left would implode if this did make it into court. You’d definitely have to get it in the right court, right judge.
Yeah, and that's the thing. Once you start policing language, where does it end? This stuff gets so muddy it's ridiculous. Who the hell gets to just decide what's not allowed to be said and what is? It's insane. I love America but fuck what the US has become, man. Oh and fuck Amazon, too. But I think that goes without saying lmao
fuck what the US has become
It’s still freer than anywhere else in the western world. If the US doesn’t hold the line, who will?
The Salarians
Toto
Well yeah I know lol
It’s still freer than anywhere else in the western world
By what metric exactly?
Speech, gun rights, personal private property are the big ones.
If you can go to jail or be fined for an abrasive tweet you do not have freedom of speech. If a cop can say you aren't allowed to own a gun on a whim you do not have free gun rights. If you aren't even allowed the right to self-defense you don't even have personal autonomy.
School shootings per capita
The left has gone full mask off as far as wanting to police your language as it is, so no wrong opinions allowed where freedom of expression and speech are concerned like a film or show review being restricted is definitely up their alley.
Only in America would Amazon.com be called the left 😂
I'm not talking about Amazon, I am talking about that whackos on Twitter who want to control speech.

Cultural left, not economical left
The left is comical
Next are tangible Amazon products. I mean if this flies, why wouldn’t they shove hard, again?
They can definitely be sued and this would go through the. Courts even based on your legal, arguments alone
Seriously what is the point of having critics, reviews or ratings when you're only allowed to say good things about Product™️?
Looking forward to the unbiased reviews when Woman Kang drops lol

For the same reson dictatorships have elections. The system is rigged and unfair, but they still have it, to gain the illusion of legitimacy.

Reminds me of when companies or game developers set up official Polls to let the customers/fanbase "decide" the outcome of something if there has been fan controversy over an issue.
Soon after the Poll closes, the companies just say that most people voted for [insert aspect], and that they will be deciding on/implementing [insert aspect]. The statistical results of the Poll are never revealed. I would imagine that in a lot of cases, the illusion of legitimacy applies here as the companies had no intention of going with a result they disagreed with.
This is a known method that allows the companies to basically quell and silence controversy by pretending that "the fans/customers have made their decision".
At least when that whole Boaty McBoatface thing happened a few years ago, they had the decency to use the name for the probe on the ship.
my favorite is still "Granny gushers"
It gives the impression to the rest of the public that there are unbiased reviews, that the product is worth buying.
It’s such clown school over here at Amazon. Ok guys here’s our scale, one to ten. That’s our metric. Our gold standard. Our two thumbs.
Feel free to pick any rating between 6-10!
For all the people who only check Amazon reviews for the Amazon show. True censorship and a burden to pay.
"I can understand and sympathize with your negative views. I have been personally embarrassed fully by this cover story. But I fully accept the need for absolute secrecy and I hope you will."
Well of course they're not gonna let you criticize their product.
The review went against the narrative. That is the inappropriate content.
Obviously that’s because you’re just a racist alt-right bigot Nazi sympathizer. Good job holding the line, Amazon!
Jesus, their manipulation of reviews in wretched. You didn't say anything remotely inappropriate to a sane individual.
I'm being a brainlet here, but how does Amazon even make their money back with a series like this? Say that the show was actually good, it's not going to drive that many people to subscribe to Prime just to watch it who don't already have subs.
Not a brainlet. Some argue this is just another feather Papa Bezos wants in his cap. But that's not really relevant. This will be slightly long so bear with me.
See, in the Long Long Ago, if you wanted to see a movie you would go to a theater, give money, and watch. If you wanted to see it again, you would have to give more money. If you wanted to watch it on DVD, more money. You were saying that you like a specific Thing with money.
With subscriptions, you can't really say you like one Thing, because you are paying for all the Things with your subscription. And the company can't extract more than one subscription per month per person, so they try to expand the number of subscribers with lots of different Things. And they are betting that you want to watch Your Thing so much that even if they make a Bad Thing, you will continue paying to watch your Good Thing.
This is Netflix's, Disney's, HBO Max's, Hulu's scheme. They are daring you to stop watching Good Thing because they made Bad Thing. And since subscriptions are in the background, most people just let it ride.
It's the gym membership mentality. The worst thing you can possibly do to a 24 Hour Fitness is actually go there and use their equipment. They HATE that. They want you to stay at home, eat a thing of Americone Dream, and never go near their facilities while you pay 30-50 bucks a month.
Amazon is a wholly different creature. People get Prime because they want free fast shipping. Prime Video is this whole other creature that's just a bonus and if I were to wager a guess, less than 5% of Prime subscribers even use Prime Video. Which is a shame because there are some genuinely good shows on Prime like The Expanse, Reacher, The Grand Tour, and The Terminal List.
Prime Video is a weird appendage that grew off of Amazon. Maybe it's a tax write-off. Maybe it's Papa Bezos going full Meatspin, swinging his dick around as fast as possible.
Personally I think they're throwing money down the toilet and their model is going to collapse in about 5 years when they run out of people who are physically and mentally capable of working in their warehouses or when the Chinese economy collapses and there won't be any products to sell. But we'll still have maybe 3 seasons of ROP by then.
Along the lines of Amazon video are the free monthly books and the music you have access to. I don't think many people take advantage of that, especially when Spotify and apple music are so popular and more established.
Free monthly books?
I get emails about free Kindle books for some reason. I assumed it was a perk of prime. It's never anything I'm interested in reading though.
It’s not always about making money. It’s propaganda.
Why the fuck arepeople praising the show for its visuals? Am I the only one who thinks it looks dogshit?
I'm fed up of fucking CGI wank everywhere, build a miniature and spice it up fine, but just oooh look moving digital painting of generic port town. It's boring as this point and just looks shit, regardless of how fucking fancy.
No wrong think allowed, comrade.
Try giving it 5*s and just say Diversity and see if it goes through.
I think that'd put you in the raffle for a rocket ride with Bezos, comrade!
Get back in line, Comrade. We do not speak ill of the empire.
This discourse tarnishes the image of the dear leader
The only thing amazon is doing is devaluing their own ratings system, I have not seen it but from what i've heard its a borefest at best so viewers who see the high rating but not the content of said high rating then they'll just start ignoring them and reviewing it elsewhere.
After watching a lot of reviewers channels, series and movies I noticed that (almost) every new media the female always wins any fight, the first encounter with any male is always someone bad and forced to be misogynist and quality / plot isn't the #1 priority.
It's hard to believe that a fictional world is under a giant threat when most screen time is focus on US social-political problems or some character artificial created feeling to appeal to some public.
It's all so dumbed down, badly written and forced that looks like a Dhar Mann sketch.
So you see, it not about just making memorable moments, it's about showing an agenda checklist.
I started noticing it with GoT to be honest. They got so much backlash for that rape scene that they pulled a 180 and made it all about girl power. They had forgotten what made the show so popular before. No one wants to see badass female characters in a medieval type setting where strength carried the day.
I’ve found foreign films refreshingly free of The Message. Korean, Chinese, Russian (Day Watch / Night Watch).

Ahh the Harfoots the dirty, cringey hobbit wannabe’s…
It wasn’t a party approved star rating. DUH.
To be fair, having a more eloquent way of framing a review is probably the only way you will get a review posted. Ironic though considering Amazon has no problems with all the shitware vendors they have faking reviews for what are garbage products, but they get butthurt that people are criticizing a crappy show.
Everyone gets a good sportsmanship trophy now
Regardless of them removing your review or not, I don’t think you understand how to or are using Mary Sue here correctly
"Mary Sue" is on a list
[deleted]
"Billion dollars" probably three because it's embarassing.
That word could be a bezos flagged word
Pretty sure it is. When they first unlocked the reviews I searched for all the spicy topics (race, gender, woke) and had zero results.
You gotta use extra flamboyant words post Metoo
Yep, gender x is less sexist
Wouldn't surprise me one bit!
This. It's why when I want to get around some auto-mods on reddit, I'll use alt-characters as there is a good chance they weren't included in the code for the bot.
Re-write the review but change the first letter of any word you might think amazon could label as 'controversial' to an alt-character that looks like it. We humans will know what you're getting at, but the bots will have less of a chance of catching it.
Unfortunately that’s also a good way to get picked up by the anti-spam measures. If alternate characters don’t work, inserting a space somewhere is an option and also only looks like a minor typo.
Merry Sue
Meriadoc Sue
Marey Sue
It's a lazy way of describing a character as well. OP spends 2/3 of their three sentence review just talking about Amazon. Without the Mary Sue line they're not even talking about the show itself.
You mean it's a shorthand critique saying it's following a common trope for badly written characters. It's almost like we needed a term for it or something!
No, I mean not only could you contest her fitting the term, OP spends more time bitching about Amazon rather than citing any specific parts of the show. It's literally the bottom tier of criticism that provides absolutely no information to improve things. OP's shit review was justifiably removed for this fact alone.
You could contest Lt. Mary Sue fitting the term Mary Sue, doesn't mean Mary Sue wasn't the OG Mary Sue.
Reviews aren't constructive criticism, genius, they're reviews. They're either "yeah watch this, I'd recommend it highly" or "warning: do not watch".
Could the review have been better? Sure, but you apparently don't understand the fucking concept.
