I was tired of creating so much plastic waste using disposable cartridges, so I spent a few days trying to make informed purchases to begin using a DE safety razor. Bought a used gillette super-speed, bought a yaqi synthetic brush, got a few martin de candre soap samples, and about 20 different 5-packs of blades. All of it arrived and I just had my first shave using this set-up and my experience resulted in the question that is my post title: are you guys serious?

To start, the lather I get out of a can of barbasol that I buy for $1.99 is infinitely better than what I got out of this fancy soap ($6.40 for a 1oz sample). Is it the brush? Is it the bowl? it the soap? Is it me? Not off to a go

Background: 2016 GTI SE PP purchased new in April 2016 now with 96,000 miles. APR stage 2, APR intake, APR DP, Audi TTRS clutch, Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilovers - all mods done between 15-20,000 miles, so about 80,000 on the modded car.

I just had my car in the shop to replace a leaking thermostat housing and water pump, evap canister and module, evap pressure switch, and J909 module. I also had a carbon cleaning done.

Now that I’ve got these issues addressed, I’m wondering what else would be good to do now at 100,000 miles to make sure the car can hopefully go another 100k.

I plan to replace the coil packs (previously replaced at 60k with APR packs), replace the spark plugs (previously repl

I’ve been using a pair of Bose qc3’s that I got as a gift in 2008 and they’re finally toast. looking for headphone recommendations because I haven’t been in the market in over a decade and I don’t feel like sifting through a bunch of astroturfed marketing posing as reviews to get up to speed. what’s good out there, I don’t mind spending money, I just want around-ear design and a wired connection and comfortable to wear for extended periods. should I get the bose qc35’s or what’s better/comparable?

thank you for your time

My local Volkswagen dealership service center has had my gti for three weeks now. The process of repairing my leaking sunroof, which to begin with is unacceptable for a car less than two years old, has been a nightmare. The service department has managed to break two sunroofs now, ruined the headliner requiring replacement, cracked the windshield requiring replacement, and failed to order a part which has perpetually been “coming tomorrow” since last Thursday.

I’m really losing my patience here and am wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar situation with the service department and subsequently VWoA customer care. There’s already an open case with VWoA and I’ve spoken to them.
