We have central heat and air, so I keep the house a little warmer or cooler than it needs to be so my kids won't be even close to hot during the summer or cold during the winter. I vividly remember sleeping in our car during the winter because the gas to keep the car warm was cheaper than the kerosene we used to heat our living room where we all slept.

I buy all the snacks I can and make sure they're always stocked. We never had snacks, except when we got our income tax.

They get a toy every single time they go to the doctor.

I am obsessive that every bill gets paid, and will often check each one multiple times to make sure, so my kids don't go without something.

When it's warm out, we

So, in season one Angus crosses himself quite a bit and I always wondered why after crossing himself he kind of waves his hand towards his shoulder, kind of in a wafting way. Does anyone know?

I’m about to lose my mind. My 2.5 year old has recently started getting out of bed in the middle of the night. We put up a baby gate outside her bedroom door. She figured out how to take it down. We put a bookshelf in front of the gate. She figured out to climb over it. The worst part is that she does this so quietly that it doesn’t even wake up the dogs. I need some help because I’m terrified she is going to seriously hurt herself. The only thing I can think to do is put a lock on her door but I just hate the idea of locking her in.

As salaam alaikum sisters! I’m so sorry if this is a dumb question but I really could use some help. I am pretty busty and I have a very hard time dressing modestly because of that. By that, I mean when I wear dresses or shirts that completely hide my chest shape, the clothes are literally falling off of me. Should I continue to wear clothes a size bigger and wear a sports bra to minimize my chest shape, though it doesn’t completely hide it, or what? Does anyone have any suggestions?

As salaam alaikum, sisters. I'm very sorry if this has already been covered but I could use some help. I am really really struggling with my mental health (we're working on trying to find the best medication for me) and I just feel so far from God. I know I shouldn't feel that way so I was wondering if anyone knew any particular verses I could read or sunnahs or anything that may, Inshallah, help me feel closer to Him again or just help me out in general.

I ordered pizza online at 5:30 and I was wondering why it wasn't here at about 7:15 so I got on my email to check the status of the pizza. It said that my order had been canceled and directed me to customer service. Customer service (online) kept telling me my option was unavailable? So, I decided to call the store. I've been on hold for about half an hour. I normally wouldn't bother but the money was already taken from my account and I kinda need that if I can't have my pizza. Did everyone just walk out or something?

Very new Muslim revert

Question & Advice

Salam alaikum! I am a very new revert and am planning on starting to wear hijab full time starting on Ramadan. Unfortunately, the only Muslim I know is not a practicing Muslim and I could really use a friend to take me under their wing. I did a free online course but I still feel like I could use some guidance for just day to day things, but especially with Ramadan. Any tips, words of advice, or anything positive is more than welcome!

I recently reread a book that delves a lot into heaven. In this particular book, the character is in heaven but it is explained that everyone has their own heaven that is perfect just for them. What are your thoughts on this? Everyone having their own special piece of heaven that is perfectly just for them. Is there any concrete evidence on what heaven is like?

I'm getting caught up on Avery and Omar's season of Before the 90 Days at the moment. I've been reading through the discussion posts every episode and I need to talk. I've seen a lot of people say that they aren't rooting for Avery and Omar, and/or that Omar is not emotionally invested in Avery.

So far, they're one of my favorite couples. I may have a soft spot for them because Omar reminds me a lot of my own husband or maybe because Avery was a friend of my sister's in high school. I just want to defend them.

My husband grew up being told that men don't show emotion and yada yada, similarly to Omar. I have no doubt that my husband does love me and I really don't doubt that Omar does love
