I will be travelling to Australia on WHV in the new year and was wondering what methods you guys recommend when transferring money (did you take a travel card with money on it or just use your normal bank card until you setup an Australian account?). My current bank lets me use my card for up to 3 months but has a £25 fee on every withdrawal and has a harsh exchange rate.

I'm also curious how you went about setting up a phone contract and what I should look for/avoid. I am currently on Vodafone in the UK and I looked into setting up an account for when I get over there as they have Vodafone in Australia but they said it wasn't possible.

Finally what insurance cover would you recommend, I'

Obviously OP3T has better specs but I really like the HTC10... the price is literally the only reason I haven't bought it yet. I still don't know if I want to commit to it considering in the US it was sold for the equivalent of £400. Any UK people got a link for a better priced HTC10?

I was going to commit to the OP3 a few days before they announced the OP3T but I'm still undecided on a phone and need one asap :/

I've been looking at a mid budget phone for a while and have focused my attention on these two phones (and the HTC10 but it's still £570 in the UK).

Obviously OP3T is the better phone but battery life is very important to me as I spend a lot of time on my phone for emails/music and general battery draining stuff like Snapchat/taking pictures/surfing the web. Does anyone know what the audio is like on each of these phones?

Also has anyone from the UK used Appliances Direct? It looks a little shady but it has the Moto Z Play for £290 potentially and it's a "Google Certified Store".

Edit - I wanted to buy the Red HTC10 which is only available from the HTC website and I'm not gonna pay £570

I'm going to Australia for a year on a WHV (already got the visa), and I'm wondering how much money you guys thing I will need to take with me - I plan on working ASAP.

I'll be landing just before New Years and not entirely sure what I should do for it... I've looked at a few events such as the harbour party in Sydney but if you guys have any suggestions for me it would be great.

People who have travelled in Australia - What sort of work did you do (I'll do any work I find to be honest) and how much did it pay? Also what sort of schedule did you have in terms of working and travelling. I know there are some limits on how long you can spend in each job but I'd like to visit as many places a

I see a lot of people asking for phone recommendations and how their "build quality" is. One amazing source to check a phones durability is JerryRigEverything on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/user/JerryRigEverything

He puts phones through pretty extreme tests (hardcore bend test too) and examines build quality and materials. He tests the resilience of phone screens, cameras, fingerprint scanners and the overall body. He also does some comparison videos such as camera comparisons.

If you're going to get a new phone definitely check his channel to see how long it can last physically.

I'm currently using my super old Xperia Z1 and I'm in major need of an upgrade, after looking at 100's of phones and reviews I think I'm ready to commit to a HTC10. I was wondering if any of you have the Camellia Red version as I want to get it but can't seem to find a "real person" picture and don't know if it looks good without the "magic of advertising". If any of you have real pictures of the Camellia Red version that you could share it would be really helpful.

I'm picking the HTC10 for its flagship specs and the high quality audio as I use my phone for music every day, both with speaker and headphones. However I also enjoy taking pictures with my phone on my travels and have heard that

I don't know what to choose:

HTC10 has the audio, which is a key factor for me, and the high end specs.

OP3 has the specs and budget.

Moto Z Play has worse specs (still decent), seems to be in the middle ground in terms of budget, and have the reliability of a big brand company.
