My little man is 7 months old tomorrow. I've coslept with him occasionally since he was about 3.5 months old, mainly when he is unwell or particularly unsettled (as cuddling me puts him straight to sleep).
We are deep in the teething trenches at the moment, so I've pretty much coslept with him for the last month. He's settled a bit more now that the teeth have started to cut, so I've started putting him back in his co-sleeper cot feeling glad to be getting some of the bed back and the ability to roll around and change positions more freely.
But the kicker.. I can't seem to sleep without my baby now. I find myself awake for hours at a time tossing and turning, all the while my little guy i
Hi all, I have a 5.5 month old baby boy, at birth he was 3.2kg and despite immediately having a perfect latch and breastfeeding happily, he just struggled to transfer the milk effectively and wasn't gaining weight well. So I switched to exclusively pumping and bottle feeding him at 3 weeks old and had a large oversupply that allowed me to freeze around 30 litres.
From birth to 4 months he has basically stayed on the 3rd percentile for weight. At his 4 month appointment he had dropped to the 1st percentile and they suggested offering him more milk at each feed (he was already on 34-37oz/day which far exceeded the calculations the maternal health nurses gave me, so I hadn't exceeded that muc
Basically as the title says, my little guy has recently upped his intake from 1000ml (34oz) to 1350ml (46oz) daily, and I pump almost bang on 1100ml (37oz) per day.
He was slightly under for his weigh-in (150g off of staying on the 5th percentile growth curve) at his 4 month appointment recently, so they advised I offer him more at feeds. Well boy, oh boy does this guy eat. He's gone from 5.32kg to 6.80kg in 3 weeks (baby is 21 weeks old), but he's now surpassed my supply and I am very quickly working my way through my freezer stash (approx 14.5L/490oz).
I've been struggling to get my supply to increase at all, it hasn't seemed to matter whether I pump my usual 5ppd or 10ppd, the amount
I'll preface this with it only took 24 hours for us to get a rental so we are happy and had no issues, but I just wanted to say how boggled I was to learn that you can be pre-approved for a rental (before you've inspected it) and then just have to attend the open inspection with everyone else who thinks they have a shot at renting the place?
It made me feel bad for the 8 other couples/families who took the time out of their day to come view the house. We did the inspection and then immediately phoned the real estate office to confirm we wanted it and that was that - rental agreement and forms were sent over and signed within the hour. Makes me wonder how many of the 9 inspections I attende
Hi all! Does anyone have a copy of the new baby arrivals from yesterday's paper? I don't have a subscription to the Geelong Advertiser but wanted to save the photo of us with our little one. TIA ❤️
I, F22 FTM, graduated yesterday afternoon at 37 weeks exactly with a healthy baby boy!! I was induced after my gestational hypertension progressed into pre-eclampsia Sunday morning.
I had the balloon catheter inserted Sunday, 1:40pm, and was 3cm dilated when it was removed Monday morning, 9:20am. I then had my waters broken manually and was started on syntocinon shortly after.
At around 10:30am I started having regular contractions. Up until 1:00pm I didn't need any pain relief, and was very calm and comfortable breathing through them. However, then at 1:30pm I started haing extremely intense back to back contractions with almost no break in between them. Suddenly the pain was unbearable
As the title states, I'm 36w+6 and after constant monitoring for pre-eclampsia after the onset of gestational hypertension at around 32w, it finally developed into pre-eclampsia overnight.
Thursday I had bloods and urines taken at my midwife appointment and was in the clear, Saturday morning I was feeling nauseous and my BP was 185/105, after 24 hours of adjusting my medication and failing to get my BP under control on the maximum dosage, and finding protein in my urine, I have been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and am now being induced.
I've just gotten a cervical check and had a balloon catheter inserted to start the induction process. I am terrified and would love to hear some positive
I'm 35w+2 today and have been leaking colostrum since 16w. I haven't been actively expressing it, but since 30w have been using wearable collection cups to catch what leaks. As of today have currently collected 171 ml and have them stored in syringes in my chest freezer.
My question is, how much do I need to/should collect? Is there a point where just dont need to store any more? have just been diagnosed with gestational hypertension and have been told will need to be induced between 37-39 weeks, so I'm not sure if that changes the need to have more of it on hand. Obviously will discuss this with my midwife, but my next appointment isn't until next week.
TIA :)
Needing advice, which I'll start with and then explain the situation in more details below. What on earth have/do people done to occupy themselves at hospital? I've only been here for 4 days and it's driving me insane. I've been doing puzzle books, scrolling socials, watching TV, talking to friends/family, and my partner visits for a good few hours daily, but I'm just getting so bored. I'm likely going to be stuck here for another 2.5 weeks and would love any suggestions on how to pass the time 😭
As the title says, I was admitted for a 24 hour monitoring period due to my blood pressure being elevated (150/105) after having already been in and out for monitoring the previous 3 days and 2 day
Just as the title says. I've had a pretty straightforward pregnancy with next to no issues (apart from some minor swelling in the feet from 30w), and after going in for reduced movements a couple of days ago they found that my BP was still high since I was last checked out (it was slightly elevated at my 32w midwife check-up and they did tests to check for pre-eclampsia but found no abnormalties in my bloods or urine so I was sent home).
I spent 4-5 hours in the hospital on both Wednesday and Thursday for monitoring of my BP and fetal movement. Yesterday they gave me some BP medication to try get it down and I was told to come back again today to check up on how it's travelling. Well, It's
Hi all, I had my routine 33 week midwife appointment today and although my fundal height, babys' HR, and pregnancy are going well otherwise, my blood pressure was high today (138/90) and they detected trace amounts of protein in my urine, so I was sent to the Maternity Assessment Unit to check for pre-eclampsia (baby also has a LGA, and is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead).
They monitored my BP for 4 hours, took bloods and a urine sample to send off for testing, and did some fetal monitoring for 1.5 hours. I was sent home after 5 hours and all I was really told was if something was wrong they'd call me tomorrow, and the high blood pressure was probably just stress and the trace amounts of protein
I'm 16w+1 today and have just come to the realisation that the small patches on the bed weren't something I'd spilt in the last day or two, and are in fact my breasts leaking. I had no idea this could start this early?! It started yesterday (I think) and is now happening a bit during the day too.
Super annoying as I almost exclusively go braless and now cannot (don't particularly want to be visibility leaking while I'm out and about 🤣) and don't currently have any bras that fit super comfortably.
When did everyone else start experiencing this? I thought it didn't kick in until the third trimester!!
I see lot of posts on this sub about struggling with the first trimester, etc, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through their pregnancy with absolutely no symptoms? Or had them develop a lot later?
I'm 15w+6 today and am yet to really have any pregnancy symptoms. I work 9 hour shifts at a physical job 4-5 days a week and do swimming on the side to stay active and haven't had to alter anything as of yet to accomodate the changes of pregnancy (except recently my pant size and the obvious things like certain foods, alcoho, etc).
If I didn't have a small baby bump or hadn't taken a pregnancy test, which was lucky I had as I actually only took one to humour a post a friend sent t
