I’ve (28F) been on the fence my whole life with having kids. Never felt strongly one way or another. My wife (27F) has always strongly wanted kids. About a year and half ago, we decided to look into foster care. I thought this could be a good compromise, mainly because it didn’t feel permanent. My wife got cold feet and decided she wanted to have a baby instead. We looked around at IVF clinics, and then I realized I really don’t want to be pregnant. My wife doesn’t really want to be pregnant either, but says she will if she has to.

Fast forward to now and I’m really doubting having kids. I like my life how it is now. I don’t want it to change. Everyone I know with babies or toddlers is fre

time to try again?

I Want To Stop Drinking

This time last year I (28F) felt like I hit my bottom. I had decided it was time to try and get sober. I was doing 90 in 90 (at 6 am meetings before work) and made it to 45 days. I had never hated my life more.

I started drinking in college, blacked out the first time I drank & that started it. I haven’t lost a job, or ruined my marriage, or gotten a DUI. I don’t even drink every day, but when I do drink I binge. But my mental and physical health is so horrible.

At 45 days I started drinking again, ghosted my sponsor, and felt so much better. I was having very severe suicidal ideations and thought it was best for me to drink, rather than do something terrible.

But now, about a year late

I just need to vent. I think I’m experiencing burnout.

Been at this company for 1.5 years - assist CEO, CFO, CHRO, COO, and two presidents. Manage our office, do our marketing, and have been managing our fleet since July. This is my first EA job (marketing background).

Since taking on fleet (0 experience, the person quit) I have been drowning. I have no time to do anything well, everything is half assed, and I keep getting more on my plate. I have tried to express this to my C-Team, but it gets brushed off. “Lean team work hard” is the motto for 2026.

This week, a president called me “incompetent” in a meeting with another coworker and a vendor. Just so pissed, honestly. I’m trying my

Hi everyone! I’ve been creeping in this sub, but now I’m looking for some advice.

My wife and I (both 27F) are currently in Austin, TX. We are from Oklahoma & moved down here about six years ago. We did move to Denver, CO for a year but came back to Austin. (I hated Denver). We want to have children, and I am very concerned about living in a red state as a queer couple wanting kids.

We are looking for a blue state, good education, and good healthcare. I also really want a good airport - direct flights to Austin & Tulsa are a plus! We make about $130k combined.

The issue we keep running into is proximity to family. We have family in Austin, Oklahoma, and Missouri. One of our top choices

My Shark Broke! Help!

Purchase Advice (U.S.)

Help! My Shark broke & it’s not fixable (the piece that plugs into the outlet snapped off). I am now in desperate need of a vacuum!!

My house currently is tile and laminate, but we do have low pile rugs. I have a dog and cat that both shed constantly. I am leaning towards cordless, since I vacuum multiple times a week, but need something that works!! Looking to spend around $800 USD.

My gripes with my Shark was the cord, the hair that constantly got stuck in the roller, and the filters STUNK. I washed the filters and canister almost monthly, but they held such a nasty smell of dog. I’m not 100% sure which Shark I had - my mom gifted it to me & it was a QVC exclusive lol.

Hi Tulsa folks! Popping in to ask some questions about potentially moving to Tulsa.

My wife is from the Tulsa area, and I am from OKC. We have been living in Texas for the past six years and are considering moving closer to family.

I am concerned about us having children in the future. As a lesbian couple, we will have to use IVF to conceive. Do any queer couples have experience doing this in Tulsa? Or have any recommendations for doctors or offices? Even places to avoid?

Any advice is appreciated!! Thanks in advance :)

Calling seasoned EA’s! How do you manage your exec’s travel amidst the government shut down? Watch the news like a hawk where they’re traveling? Any tips appreciated!

Do any of yall manage other assistants? What are the pros /cons of that?

I work at an acquisitions company & we have multiple branches. There are admin assistants or office managers at those branches. I love the idea of having 1x1 meetings with them or monthly group meetings. I just want people to be able to share ideas and get what they need from each other.

Selfishly, I would love to take one or two under my wing and manage them. I’ve never managed anyone before, and I’m no expert, but I genuinely think it sounds fun lol.

alrighty, the great debacle. Do you pot in nursery pots or just put your plants directly into the planter?

I had majority of mine in clear nursery pots. I liked being able to see the water touch all points of the soil. However, I felt like I was having to water too often. I was watering all my plants weekly.

For context: majority of my plants were in 4-6inch pots and I’ve noticed those need to be watered more than the few I had in a 10inch pot.

About a week ago I repotted all of my children directly into the planters. Nursery pots begone! Now, I’m regretting my decision. Leaves are yellowing and I’ve had to trim some of my favorites back a ton.

Should I repot them into the nursery po

Time Commitment

Early Sobriety

I went to my first meeting on Sunday. I was scared to death, but got through it. I found meetings I want to go to & put them in my calendar. But i haven’t brought myself to go to another…

I get home from the office and don’t want to leave the house. I’m exhausted from my day job, working on a side hustle, married, trying to have a life. How do I make time for meetings?

I’m frustrated and want to drink. I’m mad at myself for not going. I’m ashamed I want to drink. The cycle continues.

I’ve been at my company almost a year. I support 4 execs, manage the office, manage marketing, and recently took on another position on the Operations team they aren’t backfilling.

I made a comment to one of my exec’s about how this new position (fleet management) is taking up a lot of my time. (It’s a shit show, so I’m working on it nonstop!!). She went behind my back to another exec to voice her concerns about how I’m ‘dropping the ball’ and ‘super overwhelmed’.

This exec brought it up to me, and is having me create a log of my tasks to track where I’m spending my time. The word got out to the other execs, so now they’re all concerned about me.

I’ve reassured them all I’m fine, I’m n

any recommendations for hotels near Wrigley Field in Chicago? Exec and clients going to a game, wanting to stay near the stadium. They’re Marriott people so I get nervous booking other hotels lol

How do you prioritize? I support 4 execs & manage our office and I’m starting to get burnt out. I can’t finish a project because I have so much on my plate that’s “urgent”. How do you decipher what’s urgent, what can wait, and what to do first? Help 😭
