Hi everyone,

I'm seeking clarification on how the Dubai Municipality Housing Fee, which is collected through the monthly DEWA bill, is calculated and updated in various scenarios.

Calculation for rented properties:

  • Standard calculation: The housing fee is simply calculated as 5% of the actual annual rent divided into 12 monthly installments. For example, if your annual rent is AED 80,000, the housing fee would be AED 4,000 per year, equating to approximately AED 333 per month.
  • Below-market rent: If the actual rent is below the market rate, does the calculation consider the higher value between the actual rent and the RERA Rental Index for the area?

Hi all,

I'm strongly considering buying a Porsche Panamera. I currently drive Toyota Landcruiser which I intend to keep, but we need a second car. Unfortunately, it needs to be a 4-door car to suite or family needs so a Cayenne is unfortunately not an option right now (although I would prefer it).

I like this 2019 model, but it's base model and American Spec: 2019. Massage, Panoramic, R21, Ventilation, 360. low km | dubizzle

Do you think it is worth getting the 4S or GTS over the base model? I'm wouldn't say I'm a car guy, but I do

I am currently in the process of selling my property, and the buyer has requested that we increase the agreed price in the MoU.

For example, our agreed selling price is AED 3.9 million, but they want the MoU to reflect a selling price of AED 4.1 million. They have asked me to provide them with a cheque for AED 200,000 on the transfer date to align with agreed selling price.

Can anyone explain why they might want to do this? Maybe something to do with financing, valuation, or artificially keeping market prices high, resale value, etc.? Are there any risks for me as the seller if I agree to this approach?

Hi all,

I see ENBD Duo recommended a lot on this sub so decided to apply, but the offer mentions (and this was confirmed by the ENBD rep) that it's only available for Abu Dhabi residents.

Does anybody know if it is possible to get this card as a Dubai resident?

Hi all,

I'm planning on buying a second hand car this week and had a few questions regarding FTA transfer process and insurance:

  1. the seller says the vehicle already passed inspection. Do we need to pass the vehicle again if we want to do transfer of ownership?

  2. how can I already get insurance before going to RTA? Is that possible and if so, what documents do I need?

  3. is it correct that you are not required to get the plastic mulkiya card? Just the digital copy is fine?

  4. how much is the price for new license plates? Does it come with a play holder? Stupif question but should I bring a screwdriverto mount it? Does it come with screws?

As you can see I'm pretty clueless and woul

Hey all,

I would love to recieve your feedback and opinions on buying a second hand SUV.

Price range: AED 110,000 - 125,000 (although I'd prefer to stay on the lower end of that range).

I'm currently looking at the following options (however I'm open to other suggestions as well):

  • Nissan Patrol SE Platinum (2015 - ... ). Most Patrols in my price range are likely to have above 125,000 - 150,000 kms. Are there any major issues in terms repairs, maintenance that I should take into account when buying a Patrol of this age and with this milage (assuming that the previous owner has kept up with periodic maintenance and repairs)?
  • Toyota Prado GXR or VXR. Compared to the Patrol, my budget

Hi Reddit,

Last year in May we signed a plan with DU for TV, internet, landline called 'Home Starter.

The plan at the time offered 40Mbps (download) / 12Mbps (upload) speeds for AED 375 (excl. VAT) per month.

A few months back, DU upgraded its plans. The Home Starter pack now boasts a download speed of 250 Mpbs for the price of AED 389 (excl. VAT) per month as shown here.

Now I know that the general consensus is that when you upgrade your current plan, you have to sign a new contract of 24 months. This was also confirmed by a DU sales rep.

However, when you click on 'fees & charges' on the abovementioned link,

Hi guys,

Last weekend we were confronted with a not so pleasant surprise when our landlord called me and asked me if she could come up to our apartment to discuss something. At this point, I was already quite suspicious and started fearing the worst. When I opened the door I noticed our real estate agent was accompanying her.

To put things shortly, she told us that up until recently, she used to live in Abu Dhabi, as her plan was to open a hotel there. Now for whatever reason, these plans got cancelled (I mean, who knew that opening another hotel in the UAE might not be the best idea from a business perspective?).

Now she asked my quite bluntly whether my wife and I would consider moving

General purpose of this PC: gaming, I would like to effortlessly (60fps) play all games that come out in the near future (e.g. The Witcher 3). In time I'm thinking about getting one of those Korean 1440p screens off eBay.

I'll be getting another GPU in the near future (thinking about getting a gtx780 or gtx780 TI). But it would be awesome if I could use my gtx470 for a few more weeks.

  1. Regarding the RAM:
  • Is 8gb enough?

  • Would you guys recommend this brand and type? Is Crucial a respected manufacturer? Or should I take the Corsair Vengeance, which is about 20-25 dollars more expensive.

  1. Will this cooler be fine or should I go for the Corsair Hydro Series H100i?

  2. Should I get
