Hi! Just got this pedal and mostly love it. I'm hoping for it to knock a Rat, TS, and Muff off my board. I usually play with fairly low gain, but with a medium-high-ish gain for solo boosts. I mostly play a Strat (American deluxe 2001 HSS with "noiseless" pups). Last night I was trying some of the OD's various channels, and with the gain up past about 2/3, there's quite the hum, even on the Strat's "H". I might expect that on the metal zone circuit, but on the BD or OD settings as well.
Just as a test, I plugged my Rat back in, dimed the distortion knob, and it was relatively silent! What gives?
Also I tried my humbucker Ibanez Artcore, and it helped somewhat (but still).

Yo! So.. I posted yesterday "Should I get a Blues Driver?" and I got an overwhelming response (I love this place! Thank you all). Most people said YES but I got a few other interesting responses. First of all, here is my current setup so you don't have to click over there: Strat most of the time, JC-40 amp. Qtron->Phase90->TS->Rat->Comp->DD-500->RV-500. (I do like always-on-comp after dirt for my playing style, which is usually jam-rock/shoegaze.) I also have a Muff and an SF300 that are off board right now because I never end up using them in my band. And the reason for the question in th
Hi all, me again.. Just wanted to say thanks for all the tips the other day. I've made it through Book 1 (the first three episodes) unscathed (not to mention entranced, obsessed, etc.). It's so good!
I settled on (so far anyway), just reading each chapter, maybe peeking into ulyssesguide mid-chapter if I get stuck on something, maybe checking genius if I'm particularly curious about a word or phrase, and then finally after the chapter listening to the RTE podcast analysis.
Proteus was not easy, but so good. The little bit about the seaweed under water, the fourworded wavespeech.. Beautiful. And at the end, the "threemaster" ship homing silently.. reminds one of his aforementioned three m
Hi all,
I finished Portrait last night (working my way thru them in order), and loved it. I read the Penguin version, which is footnoted by Seamus Deane. I did the thing where I kept a bookmark in the back and in the front, as I needed to be flipping back to the notes quite often (sometimes many times per paragraph). However... I'm not sure that the notes did that much for me. A few times they cleared things up, but overall they got in the way of the flow. What I found more helpful was reading the Cliffs Notes chapter summaries as I finished each chapter. They are good at explaining the main plot points as well as the more artistic stuff (e.g. patterns of certain imagery that Joyce is usin
Hello,
We've had xfinity internet at our house for at least a year, with no issues. I use an Arris Surfboard router with wifi, and it is on the xfinity approved devices list. Suddenly this past couple of weeks, the internet connection has been randomly dropping throughout the day. It isn't the wifi--our devices all still show strong wifi signals to the router--but the router itself has "no Internet connection." I've checked all the coax cables and everything's as tight as it has been all year. I don't know if there have been outages around here or what it could be, but it is becoming unworkable.
Thanks!
Edit for curious people with similar issues. One of the mods checked something in
Hey all, I recently got a DD-500, and, let me get this out of the way--it's my favorite pedal (that I own)! One of the things I was looking forward to was being able to simultaneously run "two delay pedals" in series. But it doesn't seem to really do it, unless I'm missing something. You can run A+B in parallel, and that works great... and you can set it to run A>B in series, but what seems to be happening is only the wet signal from A is being fed into B. Whereas if you had two delay pedals in series, the dry signal from A would also go into B.
Basically I was trying out this trick from a recent Chords of Orion video (I won't post the link, not sure if that's allowed??) where he feeds
