Really the only explanation. They’re jealous of his career. They’re jealous of his success. Imagine being a team that’s meddled in mediocrity and pure embarrassment for as long as they have.

They look at Doughty, with his 2 cups, his Olympic gold, and actually bringing his city CUPS. He’s a WINNER. These teams have felt humiliation and pain for so long, they see an actual winner who also gets under their skin easy, of course he’s going to drive them crazy.

He plays the left side as a LHD, he’s a big body, amazing defensively, great offense too. I’m happy with Gavrikov but you’d think with how much Ekholm has put the Oil trash over the top, he would have been atleast been a target for our LHD acquisition.

I don’t even remember a smidge of a rumor about it. Now I’m a little disappointed our scouts weren’t targeting him.

Was it possibly his cap hit?

I’ve heard contradicting things. Some saying Gavrikov is a shut down D-man but doesn’t actually shut things down, Korpisalo just being an average goaltender etc. Can I get the actual low down friends?

Btw, Gavrikov will not be playing 1st pair in LA

Edit: just want to say thanks so far to everybody’s who’s chipped in on this post! While nothing will fill the massive hole in my heart created by Quick being done like this, I’m excited for Gavrikov on the 2nd pair and Korpi in net.

Obviously it’s early and I still think Laf will be good, but I really think Byfield is going to be an absolute MENACE. Bonafide #1 C, rare size, skill, and skating combination.

I don’t remember where I read this but somebody said it best - You can find electric wingers (Laf, Stützle) through trade and free agency. You can’t find 6’5 #1 centers that way, you draft them.

I remember being disappointed at not winning 1st overall. Now I’m so happy we didn’t

And if you peek in their, sub they love him now. He’s on the 4th line pummeling people.

Also he just dusted Greenway from the Wild after Greenway Hit Kempeur up high

We’re way better without him, but I wonder how he’d fare for us on the 4th line

RV is on pace to smash his point total from last year, Danault has already matched his goals from last year in 22 less games, and is on the tail of his assist total from last year. Pepe Lemieux is on pace for his best offensive season of his career, along with his intangibles that he brings.

I’m not saying Rob Blake is goat GM, but his haters gotta start giving some credit at some point. Great additions over the summer

The boys really like him, he’s a great scrapper, and he’s seemed to turn a corner offensively. He’s also a hilarious pest to boot.

I also enjoy how he’s one of the most hated in the league right now, all I can think is “cry more” especially since our locker room really likes the guy and they get along well

Even the little things like doing a fly by at the Wilds bench, staring them down after scoring (which got him squirted by a water bottle) is fucking hilarious to me.
