As we all know Scholar has been meme'd on a bunch since the recent recent live letter. Some of it deserved, some maybe not-so-much. But as someone who has played and loved Scholar since the very beginning I think there's been a lot of misinformation and confusion surrounding Scholar's current state going into Endwalker. I wanted to give my perspective on it to maybe clear up some misconceptions. And also to be able to point to this post later when Scholar is almost inevitably meta again and everyone comes down on us for ever having complained.

To start off, Scholar is a strong healer and I don't know any Scholars who ever expected that to change in Endwalker.

I had a really phenomenal monsoon run going on Engineer earlier that quickly spiraled out of control. I was armed with a ton of keys and a ton of Fungus and once the reds started rolling in nothing stood a chance. But I made the mistake of taking Happiest Mask. And not just one Happiest Masks, but two when another dropped soon after. With two clovers there was a roughly ~20% chance to spawn a ghost that would each last 60 seconds. I thought that'd be fine but little did I know that my giant Fungus / Rejuv Rack healing fields would prolong their lives even further. During the final teleporter event ghosts just kept stacking and stacking and stacking until finally it was too much. I crashed at

His new primary attack stats are super impactful, you actually pump out good damage and have decent sustain. It's a pretty significant powerspike on its own in the early stages, and it makes the new M2 usable now that M1 can take care of wisps. His new M2 not costing health anymore is huge as well. Between the two of them I felt like I had health for days even on Monsoon. It also makes backup maps incredibly strong. Rooting a bunch of enemies and the boss together and then dropping 6 drills on them drops them fast while procs go crazy. I haven't tried his original M2 yet but you should be able to fire it more often now that you get more health regen from the M1.

His new utility is pretty in

I'm a returning player who dabbled in co-op a bit before but hadn't played 1v1 in almost four years. Every day has been full of discoveries and minor successes, and I was wondering if any of you had stories to share. Anyone come to a realization that changed everything or accomplished something you've been striving towards recently?

I learned something today about Tressa's random money collecting in the overworld that I'm not sure if anyone has shared yet! I've seen pieces of it, but not the whole thing, so I hope I can contribute. Here are some "rules" that I can't confirm but that I believe are true which are important to the method:

  • Tressa's random money finds seem to actually increase in value in the background as you walk

  • The amount of money grows more quickly the higher level the zone is

  • If you change zones after having walked a certain amount then they give you what you "collected" in the background so far from the previous zone as soon as you load into the new zone

  • Encounters may reset Tressa's hidd
