Long, mostly pointless rant incoming. Please downvote for invisibility.

I was once a regular here. I disappeared to fight in the Great Meme Wars of 2016. I originally jumped on board the GamerGate train because I saw how the reputation of gamers was being smeared. I thought that maybe I could be one of the people who turned it around by giving my own personal experience of how inclusive the group really is. Turns out it didn't matter. Reality didn't matter. Logic didn't matter. Intellectual honesty didn't matter. All that matters now is screaming "MISOGYNY SEXISM RACISM TRANSPHOBIA!"

I still don't quite know what the alt-right is, but I think I'm a part of it. It wasn't a group w

Here's the post. Point and laugh.

Seriously, how do you write something like this without getting embarrassed? We are literally getting blamed for something that happened a year before we existed on a site that banned us from speaking. And then we're told to fuck off for some tweet that said she "paid the price" for turning on her audience. What price exactly? What's the context? Who said it? No idea because the tweet doesn't exist anymore. But, rest assured, you're all guilty of... something. Heresy, I guess. I would like to see some actual, conclusive evidence that GamerGate A

I got a hold of Felicia Day's book so, naturally, I skipped to the GamerGate chapter. Here's what I found.

She gives us a few specific examples of the harassment she faced. It seems like a mix of tweets, Reddit comments and who knows what else. There were only two tweets that I could actually find. This one and this one. What's odd is that these two people never tweeted GamerGate. (Sources 1 and 2)

She goes on to tell a sad tale on the somewhat poor reception t

Sexist guys suck at video games, science says

People tend to consider themselves "gamers" if gaming takes up a significant amount of their time. That's according to this study which Dan Golding used to show that people don't self-identify as gamers based on their gender. Because, as we all know, self-proclaimed academics can't be bothered to read past the title of something. But the important thing here is that gamers are spending a lot of time gaming which would make them better at it. If this study is true, there's actually a negative correlation between being a gamer and being sexist.

Alright, I'm impressed. This is the top comment on the bullshit news article about GamerGate's "failure" because there are female protagonists at E3.

Then there's this one...

GG has been big on saying "don't change games." Part of that change includes more female protagonists. See also: any comment thread dominated by GGers in which someone suggests a woman-led GTA.

But the solid response...

I'm pretty sure that they'd be equally pissed off if someone announced Tomb Raider with a male lead. Or Bayonetta with a male lead.

Give credit where credit's due. They're
