Hi, I’m 21F and I live at home with my mom. I work full time (40 hrs/week) and currently contribute about $300 every two weeks (around $600/month).

Recently, my mom told me she wants to start putting more bills in my name (like streaming services and subscriptions). I told her I’d rather just cancel some of them since I don’t really use them and I’m trying to manage my money better and be more financially independent.

That’s when things escalated.

She got upset and said I was being unreliable and a liar because I had previously agreed to pay for them. She then said that if I want to be independent, I shouldn’t use anything she pays for (like household items), and even suggested she could

Hi, I’m 21F and I live at home with my mom. I work full time (40 hrs/week) and help out around the house, but I admit I struggle sometimes with keeping everything as clean as she wants.

This weekend I went to a concert and stayed overnight at a hotel with my boyfriend (my mom doesn’t know about him because she tends to interrogate me about relationships). I texted her that I was spending the night out.

The next morning, I woke up to multiple calls and texts from her saying I needed to be home by 10am to clean and take care of chores. She said I had 5 minutes to call back or she would show up — and she actually did pull up to the hotel.

She also threatened that she could kick me out and th

Does anyone know where the spirit Halloweens are? I know they had one in Kennesaw now but now I feel like they are out farther this time around.

I’m 20 and still live at home. I’ve recently started reconnecting with someone I’ve known for 4 years—we’ve always had a strong emotional connection, and things between us have gotten more intimate lately. He makes me feel safe, seen, and cared for, even if things aren’t fully defined right now. That emotional connection means a lot to me.

The problem is… my mom constantly criticizes who I date. Last night, I went to a park to hang out with this guy. We talked, connected, and it was meaningful to me. But when I got home, she called and said things like, “Why are you letting a boy take you to a park? Be better to yourself.” She told me unless he takes me on a real date like dinner or somethi

I (F 20) have this crush (21) who’s been over to my house twice, and everything seemed fine at first — my mom was cool with him. He was supposed to come over again on Memorial Day, but he didn’t because he was spending time with his family and also had the flu. I didn’t tell my mom the full reason why he couldn’t come over, because I knew she’d just assume he was lying or making excuses.

Sure enough, when he didn’t show, she completely switched up. She texted me basically saying he doesn’t have to come back if I don’t want him to, and then sent me a TikTok that was roasting him — which just felt super disrespectful. I get that she’s probably trying to protect me, and I understand where it’
