So I'm at a job for the first time as my self. I am a freelance contractor so work is often with new people and in different places. I informed the company that hires me for these jobs I was transitioning and would be out at work from now on. Because I typically work with new people it's not as much of an issue as it would be in a more normal 9-5 but regardless the company said I was their first trans employee and sent out memos and updated company policies about zero tolerance for any kind of harassment or discrimination.

They took time to talk to me about needs and to make sure I would feel comfortable while working. Told me if I needed anything they would help. So here I am in a differ

Really bad.... But there are no gender neutral bathrooms anywhere I go and I feel like even touching the door to the women's bathroom will get me arrested and the men's room will get me beat up.

38 years of mental training that if I go into a women's bathroom I'm a freak and pervert and now it's actually worse as a non passing mtf, even if my outfit it cute

Hello my lovelies. I am going to have a day off while working in New York City, and was hoping I might get a chance to do some shopping. Typically I shop at torrid but I've been having a hell of a time finding shoes that will fit me and with winter coming I am in need of some fashionable boots.

I'm somewhere between a 13-15 women's depending on style brand and if it comes in a wide.

Any suggestions would be amazing!

Also any suggestions for mellow trans bars, not into clubbing

I had my hair done for the first time as a woman and right off the bat I could tell something was off with the woman doing my hair. First she didn't want to wash it, she actively waited until she could find someone else free to do it. Later she said she just didn't like doing it but I have watched her wash other women's fair before with no issues. (my wife comes to this salon regularly.). Then the whole experience was just unfriendly and when every I asked a question or talked about being trans she would simply not respond or say something condescending like "do it like this like every other woman knows to do". The message was loud and clear.

I'm honestly the last person to point fingers a

Today I finished and shared a letter that will be going out to all my close friends and relatives. It's a coming out letter that is full of information, history and some guide lines for interacting with trans people. I made it clear I am about to go full time and would be asking everyone to use my new name and proper pronouns.

I had been pretty afraid to force that on people before now. It felt like I was a fake if I wasn't always presenting. But my wife who read the letter first had started without question only using my name and pronouns. It is the most incredible feeling to be referred to as she. To hear my name. And it doesn't feel fake anymore. It feels validating and empowering. Li

trying to find a source where there is a good comprehensive collection of materials to share with people who you are coming out to. Primarily family and close friends (already out to immediate fam). I am sending letters and don't want to have a bunch of long impossible to read/type URLs on the page, something simple and sussinct would be ideal, I just havnt found one single source for that kind of stuff.

Dunno why, just felt like maybe posting would make me feel better. I don't have anything in particular to feel bad about except that I'm pretty sure my wife who has chosen to stay with me actually resents me, and is only sticking around to avoid embarassment of getting divorced after a year.

Just being hit with overwhelming sadness today and tonight, like big scary waves and keep thinking about killing myself so I dont have to feel or suffer or go through this shit anymore, cause im only 4 months into my transition and I don't feel like Ive made any progress mentally, socially or physically. I'm paralyzed with fear of failure, so I know its my own fault. Family is supportive, none of my

I know encounters with the TSA can be really traumatic and humiliating for transgender individuals because of the fact that TSA Policy and training gives them no tools to work with persons who are not cis and part of the binary.

I am about 4 months into my transition and hrt, on a work trip. I actually considered traveling home as myself but I didn't want a big event at TSA so I am in boy mode. But due to breast growth and nipple sensitivity I have to wear a simple no wire bra that keeps things compressed and smooth so Its not obvious through my t-shirt and uncomfortable. I've done this before without issue, some of my day bras have clasps some dont. I didn't think it would be and kind

This is just a vent post, there is no discrimination or crazy shit going on just bad luck and some people being slow but it has all lead me to a pretty major breakdown today. I felt a kinda pain inside I havnt felt in a long time and I couldn't do anything but sob.

Long story short I got a new scrip for Spiro which I've been on for like three months. I ran out on Monday and doctor sent in new scrip on Monday for 100mg per day. Ended up not making it to the pharmacy due to work so headed there on Tuesday. They said they couldn't give me the scrip because it has an indicator for an interaction with another drug I'm taking. Remember I've already been on this for three months and my old pharma
