Good morning! Working through some issues with my AT-LP60XBT that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.

Recently got in Gatsbys American Dream's "Volcano" on vinyl, which is an album I know intimately well, so I was thrown for a loop when it was clearly running faster than it should sound. Assuming in good faith (based on their prior releases) that it wasn't a poor master, I tried out one of those turntable speed clock apps on my phone, and sure enough, I was close up to 35! Really crept up on me.

First thing I did was go through the steps in this thread using a screwdriver underneat

On this episode of lo-fidelity, we conclude this first phase of our XTC extravaganza by reviewing their 1982 double-album English Settlement. Lead songwriter Andy Partridge was growing increasingly tired of the constant pressure on the band and began rebelling against the system that earned them little time to relax and little in their pocket. Armed with a new acoustic guitar, he sought to cra

Heya! We are the Dragon Ball fansite entity known as Kanzenshuu! AMA!

Really happy to have this opportunity, and appreciate the moderation team extending the invite.

We are some of the folks behind Kanzenshuu, a Dragon Ball fansite technically dating all the way back to 1998. Yes, that means we are coming up on 20 years. Yes, that’s horrifying for some of us.

Kanzenshuu came together in 2012 with the fusion of two existing fansites: Daizenshuu EX and Kanzentai. Two administrators from each site all swapped a whole bunch of pre-retcon earrings, and here we are!

I’m Mike (VegettoEX), the idiot who started this whole thing back in 1998. Joining u

In the interest of transparency, I'm mining you all for a potential podcast topic. I'm specifically targeting this community because: (1) I hang out here sometimes, (2) I have no authoritative influence here and I think people might be more apt to be honest with me here than elsewhere, and (3) I've been browsing through some of the conversations lately, specifically with regard to episode 57 of Dragon Ball Super.

So my working hypothesis is that spending an inordinate amount of time devoting yourself — and perhaps with this series, exclusively devoting yourself — to strength debates (this includes power scaling, battle powers, etc. and all the justification and citation work

(Confession: I’m adapting this from something I wrote in pieces a long time ago. It’s actually less effort to post than you might think it is, and it cobbles together way more defensively than it's intended to be.)

I’m not saying this is you. Maybe it is. Maybe it’s not. Maybe you know someone like this. Maybe you’ve been there before.

The person in question? The one who gets really mad when you use a spelling or pronunciation that’s not from the version (read: dub) they watch.

We’re all reasonable people, right? Let’s talk it out. If I had to guess, it’s a lot of “don’t you dare pretend to know more than I do” or “I’m insecure about liking a children’s cartoon and by disparaging you it

When I got into the series (mid-90s), it was a laughable pipe dream to be able to just head on down to any store and buy the entire series all in one go. You just couldn't do it. Even if you lived in a city with mythical bootleg tape shops, there were giant gaps that fansubbers missed or somehow didn't have access to. If you were a fan at the time, and you wanted to know more, you had no choice but to put it together piecemeal. It was not uncommon to know the full Cell story before you knew what happened on Namek!

That's not the case anymore, though. Be it through legit means or straight up piracy, if you want to read the whole manga, it's a click away. If you want to watch the whole series

While these days we pretty much get every Dragon Ball game released internationally (at least translated into English, if not multiple languages for the European and South American markets), there have been a few that slipped by thanks to things like console lifespans (Ultimate Butoden on the Nintendo DS), licensing nightmares (the Jump Stars games on the Nintendo DS), or simply just no financial reason to do so (likely the Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission games on the Nintendo 3DS).

I'm someone who hates being left out. I need to know everything. I need to own everything. If there's something out there and I don't have it, that's a problem.

Thus: import gaming.
