Here is the quote:
That’s right. Another way to think about this, and the way we talk about this internally, is that we prefer to communicate through our products. We are all pretty devoted to reading and listening to the community - everyone here believes it is an integral part of their job to do so. And when it comes time to respond, we generally use Steam - shipping updates that address issues or add functionality. Obviously this doesn't work for everything. Working this way imposes latency on our communication - it takes longer to ship and update than to do a blog post. **This can lead to the feeling of an echo chamber, where it seems like Valve isn't listening. clips.twitch.tv/ArtsyRepleteNarwhalSquadGoalsI'm not kidding. I know it's from Diablo 3, but this part is only like 1 minute long on any youtube video I found.
Can anyone make this happen pls? :)
I see a lot of threads popping up lately to show hero level on the loadscreen. Do those discussions there, I wanna be more general:
Don't show any rankings until the game has finished.
Why?
Because all it does is getting people to make false assumptions of/prejudging the players. For example you're in a promotion match to Plat, the game will be mixed with Gold 1 and Plat 5's.
The plat players will look down on the gold players before the game even started and the gold's will prob lift up the plat players to a throne they're not at.
If you have no rankings shown at all, people are "thought" to be on the same level.
It's a 100% psychological thing.
Dota2 has this for example, it only s

clips.twitch.tv/SlickMoralPeafowlEagleEyeHello everyone.
This shouldn't be a whining thread, I just don't understand how this works exactly.
I started playing this game mid/end of last season, switching over from Dota2. So I was quite bad, after getting some heroes to 5 I started HL and was placed Silver 1.
I ditched HL for a while and improved my gameplay in TL and Quickmatch.
So I went into these placements with hope. I played 7/3 with 4-5 times MVP (if that means anything) and got placed silver 2 again.
Hotslogs however thinks I'm platinum HL and Diamond QM: https://www.hotslogs.com/Player/Profile?PlayerID=8445432
I personally don't think I'm that good, but I was expecting a slight improvement like Gold 4-5 after placement

imgur.com/a/VXF9MIdk if devs read here or not, but I just had some thoughts trying out FS for a few days and comparing to a lot of other (very successful) MOBAs my thought on whats's needed: Accessibility.
The classic "easy to learn, hard to master" thing. What makes FS difficult are the following things IMHO:
-
Visual
-
Ships.
The ships for example look great. Great attention to detail, but tbh they all look pretty much the same. Ofcourse there are differences, nuances you notice if you play the game a lot, but from a distance they all look the same. Especially as a new player.
And especially the small pictograms when killing someone. How tf am I going to tell which ship killed which one?
Now of
It was on Numbani.
We were attacking first, went 3-0
On defense we held last point, so it was 3-2.
Second round we defended again and they got first point. So it was 3-3.
We attacked last and didn't cap first point. So still 3-3.
But we lost the game and the enemy won.
Even if this might be intended because we didn't even cap the payload, its stupid, because why would we need points then in the first place?
This should've been a draw, since we now have them (which I like). But playing a 3-3 and still losing reminds of old coin-flip days. Blizzard pls.
