The game ran perfectly fine during early access but now I'm trying to run it after the update and it wont start, I just get a black screen with this message:

LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\repos\ue_5_6_git\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\Core\Private\Containers\ContainerHelpers.cpp] [Line: 8]

Trying to resize TArray to an invalid size of 2380791808

Has anyone else had this problem? I tried reinstalling the game and Also tried repairing C++ and restarting my pc.

Please help

For a while I could never understand why people were debating about the new skate being unrealistic or not, since like all other skate games you can choose how realistic you want your line to be.

The things you can do are definitely more amped up than back in the original skate, but even then you could do some crazy shit in the OG games.

Then I kinda realised what was happening, and I think its mostly down to marketing. The videos and social media posts EA have put out on official channels have showed a little bit of realistic skating but for the most part their highlights have been trying to show the extremes of what you can do, maybe to target the more casual/streamer centric audience.

Nostalgia?

Discussion

The discussion around the new game has brought up comparisons with how we used to experience gaming and how some of us feel that games were better 'back in the day'.

Basically we're not really impressed with the quality of some games now compared to 15+ years ago.

The main counter argument I've seen to this is that our opinions are more driven by nostalgia instead of the thought that games in the past actually being objectively better experiences. Essentially people are saying that we're living in the past, and that we need to come to terms with the way gaming is now.

My question is: As someone who plays skate 2 regularly even today, sometimes for hours at a time, can this even be consid

I get that the game is in pre-alpha so they can't show a complete version of the game but why is the marketing so vague and uninteresting? I feel like they started strong when this was announced and even a couple of years ago they were putting out some decent marketing content.

But since the last couple of years it feels like their marketing fell off a cliff. They put out some 'M corp' related stuff but nothing to get fans excited for what their vision of this game will be, its all just 'we cant wait for you to see the future of skate' or 'we want you to help shape the future of this franchise' Like bro just collab with some pros get them playing the game and hyping it up like involve some

I think many like myself have been fighting to have their voices heard by EA, not just on this platform but across socials and in the official forums. But I think that no matter what happens with the new Skate, I'll still be enjoying 1-3 so much that I probably wont have time to worry about it. If it does well then great, and if it doesn't then it doesn't.

It is a shame that we might never see Skate (4) , but at least EA blackbox gave us games to remember forever. Holy cow my gawd.. Amen

Literally yes.

When the issue of pricing and cosmetics is brought up people often clap back with "Its a skateboarding game who cares about clothes".

Like come on bro a lot of us do. Why is that bad all of a sudden? How is that an L to want to be able to unlock/buy customizables at a fair price?

I loved being able to pick my sponsors in skate 1/2 and wear the sponsored gear at contests to be able to earn extra cash and rewards. It felt cool that we could do photo ops and demo videos in skate 1 to get sponsors attention and eventually ride for them.

I'm glad the gameplay is good but I feel like grinding the same challenges over and over to get the chance to unlock something you want o

I've seen this sentiment being shared among some people and to those I'd ask, would that not put us in the same boat as the people who buy the same EA sports FIFA/Madden games every year?

The reason EA gets away with doing the bare minimum is because they understand that player choice is limited. This was made even more obvious recently by the fact that their whole FC26 marketing campaign has been "we've been listening to the fans, and we've made the changes you requested" Showcasing new features, and fixes/updates to problems that hadn't been addressed for years.

Why this sudden shift in marketing for a sports title that fans have been begging to see improve for the last 2 console g

GTA VI is coming out in may, so all of the 'Whales' that people keep talking about are more than likely going to swim to a different ocean if you catch my drift.

Free to play is great until it isn't. If we want a game as niche as skate to last we need to be able to own a copy.

Theres a reason stop killing games exists.

I understand why people get tired of seeing the same points being talked about when it comes to the issues surrounding this game, and I've been one of those people who is very vocal against the direction EA has taken, but I actually wanted to make a quick post to highlight some more positive things from my perspective.

Firstly, a huge round of applause to the devs. Full circle have had to deal with a lot of shit from all sides when it comes to making this game, Both from the community and EA who have grown a bad reputation in recent years for not looking after even some of their most talented and passionate teams. Imagine working your ass off for years with the constant threat of being laid

"Pre-alpha, Early access" blah blah "Version 0.27"

Don't care. Whatever version you call it, as soon as a game has monetization built into it then it deserves to be criticized for what it is, not what they promise it will be.

If they want people to wait for the final build to voice opinions then they should have waited until the final build to start taking peoples money.

Stop sugar coating EAs bullshit. They showed their hand. And its Ai bots and loot crate progression.
