I just installed 3.0.2, thinking I'd give Blightfall another go. I seem to be running into a problem in my first few minutes of play, though.

Is there a trick to making a crafting table?

The normal four planks in the 2x2 crafting grid isn't working. NEI shows no recipe for a normal vanilla crafting table, just the special Natura ones. But I start with a regular oak sapling from the quest book, so that doesn't help. As far as I can tell, the vanilla crafting table is what the quest book is asking for, too. Am I missing something that should be obvious?

I've been working on the Hellenic Gods for my game, and thought I'd share what I have so far. I don't have any Edicts or Anathemas written up yet, so I'd be interested in suggestions on those. I haven't actually had anyone play a cleric yet, so I'd love feedback on the domains, spells, and other choices, too.

Have I missed any important deities?

Anyone know where we could get masks locally? Either disposable paper masks or cloth washable ones?

Or someplace online that can get them here in a reasonable timeframe? It seems like everyplace I’ve looked online is happy to take your money today, but it will be months before you actually get anything.

Is there any way to reduce fall damage when deliberately jumping from a height?

Say someone wants to jump down from the top of a 10 foot wall. Is there any way to avoid taking 5 damage and falling prone at the bottom, assuming you can’t or don’t want to climb?

Is there any way to reduce the number of actions required to draw and drink potions? As far as I can tell, it takes at least two actions to drink a potion, and sometimes more. My players often hesitate to use potions in combat because of how many actions it uses up. Personally, I'd like to see them used more often.

As far as the action economy goes, I think this is the usual sequence:

  1. (Free: remove a hand from a two-handed weapon, or drop whatever is in your off hand if you don't have a hand free)
  2. One Action: Draw a potion from a belt pouch or bandolier (or two actions to draw from a backpack)
  3. One Action: Drink the potion
  4. (One action: re-grip your two handed weapon or pick up

Is there a way to reset the contents of a locked storage drawer to empty, without unlocking the drawer?

I sometimes find myself in a situation where I'd like to re-arrange the contents of a drawer network while another system is still trying to push items into the drawers. I can remove all the items from a locked drawer, but that leaves it locked to that item but empty. I can unlock the drawer, then remove the items, which clears the drawer, but then it inevitably gets filled with something being pushed in from outside.

The cleanest way I've found is to remove the items from the drawer, then break the drawer and re-place it while holding a key in my off hand. That puts a locked drawer

I have a small django web app, with a handful of users. I'd like to add a section on the home page to post news about updates, and allow users to make comments. I could roll my own, but I'd rather plug in something decent and spend my time on the meat of the app.

I don't think I need a big CMS system. I started to look at django cms, mezzanine, and wagtail, but they all seem a bit much for my relatively simple needs.

On the other end of the spectrum, I see a ton of packages on django-packages.org that seem to be one-off projects that haven't been touched in years. I don't think that's what I'm looking for, either.

I want something easy to plug into my existing project. Ideally, I sho

I'm in what is probably the late stages of the midgame, or the early stages of lategame in my PO2 playthrough, and I'd like some advice on power.

I started with lava, which scaled up to about 6k RF/tick between Stirlings and Ex Utils lava generators.

Then I moved to Ender IO Zombie generators. Eight of those gave me an order of magnitude more power, 64k / tick. That was plenty of power for my Mekanism machines.

Now, I'd like to poke around in some RF Tools dimensions. I created a couple, and they wanted like 400k / tick. No problem. I built a Big Reactor (11x11x11 external dimensions). That gives me about 600k RF / tick. So, I went exploring in those dimensions, and gathered up a

I'm normally a sci-fi, fantasy, and sometimes mystery reader (and listener), but I'd like to branch out into romances. My problem is that the couple I've picked up on my own have generally ranged from mediocre to terrible.

The exception was the Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey, which I enjoyed a lot. I read that series in print, so I'm not sure how the audiobook versions were.

Part of my problem is that the male leads in most of the romance books I've happened across are terrible people. I listened to the first book of the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day (Bared to You). The sex scenes were good, and I liked the narration, but the main love interest comes across as a terrible,

I read this book no later than the late 1990s. If I recall correctly, the setting was an alien planet, with some sort of virtual reality entertainment system. Humans had discovered the planet after the creators were long gone, and started playing with things. Inside the VR system, there were multiple (three I think) layers of game, and you could move from layer to the next. The three were like three different genres of game.

The deepest layer had some sort of demon summoning "magic" system in it. Near the end of the story they discover that the magic isn't really part of the VR system. Instead, the entire system was in place to hide the fact that this magic really worked.

So, I read this book a long time ago, probably in the early to mid nineties. I recall the main character being a wealthy guy, and he was recruited, or maybe kidnapped, and taken to an alien planet. He was left there by himself, and had to get to the other side of the world. As he traveled and faced challenges he would somehow evolve or change to meet the difficulties. By the end of his trek, he was in the shape of some big flying dragon thing.

It's certainly possible I got a bunch of that wrong. It's been at least 20 years since I read the book. Any ideas?
