Hello, I recently made tree seed bombs with seeds that need cold stratification and I'm now wondering if it will even work. After making them, I remembered that for cold stratification to work the seeds need to also be moist. Do you think the seed ball will stay moist enough during the winter? I let them dry for a few days but because it's cool in my basement I don't think they dried completely before I threw them on top of the grass. I just wanted to try something neat as I had extra seeds and it would be nice to see tiny trees pop up in the spring. We have cold, dry winters with lots of snow if that helps. Thank you

I have a lot of cardboard but not a lot of mulch or compost right now. What would happen if I put down cardboard now but didn't put mulch on top and just left it like that over winter underneath the snow? Would it be beneficial to the soil in any way or should I just wait until spring when I have everything that I need? Thank you
I'm always changing my style, all the time. If I ever see a style that I like, I will immediately try to emulate it and buy as much of it as I can. If I gain a little weight I have to buy new outfits that will flatter me ( I've never been even close to overweight, maybe have BDD?). It doesn't matter if the new clothing is "me" because I am always changing. I sometimes wonder if this comes from growing up poor and never getting to experiment and only owning like two "outfits" in HS (pants & two hoodies). My closets are full of clothes now but it doesn't feel complete. I know I'll never have the struggle of not having anything to wear but the fear is still there. Maybe having to wear jea
Would it be a waste of money to get an Italki account or a tutor when I don't really know all of the basics or at least don't know how to use them in a sentence? I can understand stuff, but sometimes I get confused with the tenses or find they are speaking too quickly. I was thinking I should wait until I finally complete my Duolingo tree before creating an account as what would we even talk about if I have no clue? Yet some website say you should just jump right. What are your thoughts?
Also, is there a app where you can see the teacher but they can't see you? I'm so nervous to be in front of a webcam. I don't even like facetiming with people as I hate seeing myself on the screen, its very
I have a long commute so I'm always very exhausted after work. I come home and cook/clean and have so little time to myself as I have to wake up at 5 am the next day to do it all over again. I cannot even imagine coming home to feed, bathe, play and help my children with homework or after school hobbies after a long day. How do working parents do it? Yet.. if I was a stay at home mom, I think I'd be a happy and awesome mom. I imagine all the "hallmark moments" where we would read, draw, go to the park, build snowmen, make cookies and all that lovely stuff (basically be the mom I wish I had, but she had 12 hour work days). But maybe this is very unrealistic and this life only exists in kids s
One of the reasons I'm not sure if I will have children is that I'm not sure I can afford them. I keep seeing that on average, children cost anywhere from $200k to $250k but I'm unsure I believe that as many parents I know are very poor and don't have very well paying jobs. Is that a realistic amount? Does anyone (parents especially) have any insight on this?
My bmi is around 19 (or 20 based on the recommended bmi calculator here) and people often casually tell me I'm tiny or little or thin even though I feel I'm average and have a good amount of meat on my bones (yuck). Yet when my bmi was 17 nobody ever complimented me on my weight. Sometimes I'd get concerned people, but nobody ever told me I looked good or that I was so skinny or tiny. I remember it being irritating at the time. I now realize the reason why they didn't mention my weight is because they probably suspected I was sick or didn't want to encourage my behavior. Just a random, weird thought, thank you for listening
I find it soo incredibly awkward bumping into someone I used to be sort of friends with or someone who I graduated with. I'll actually go to great lengths to avoid them in the grocery store/mall/bus whatever. I avoid eye contact and pretend I don't recognize or see them. If I don't have a choice like they're right in front of me I act overly friendly like we're still friends. It wasn't too long I saw someone I hung out with a couple times in high school (think over 10 years ago) and she seemed weirded out that I was so warm. I also have social anxiety so I'm sure my face was beet red and my voice was shakey. I just don't know what you're supposed to do. It's sad because I also won't visit my
I hope this is the correct subreddit for this, but I'm starting to think I'm a doormat or too nice. I still talk to the people who may have taken advantage of me in the past and when I think about it, I feel bad. The other part of me thinks I should be understanding and not hold on to negative emotions and stop thinking of my own friends like that. I'm kind of looking for insight on how to handle these situations or what I could have done differently.
-A friend of mine asked to borrow a DVD of mine years ago. I kind of hesitated and said it's my favorite movie and he said, "fine, don't lend it to me". I felt bad for saying that so I lent it to him and I never received it back. I kept re
