Yea it’s crazy. I actually like Mazda and am considering it vs Tesla (CX 30 vs model 3). Mazda does a good job of making their vehicles a bit nicer/more luxury than Honda/Toyota at a cheaper purchase price too. But there EV is just funny

It’s actually quite clever. When you get a parking ticket, you can dispute it because your registration does not say Mazda.

Most will scan your VIN, which has all your vehicle info.

License plate number is input to print your ticket… it has all vehicle info attached.

For traffic tickets maybe but not for parking tickets, parking tickets are usually done by an officer in cities who walks up to you vehicle and scans your VIN. Again I said mostly since plates don't always tell the full story, many people can have the same plate number, especially if the car only has one plate like in most states.

Have you seen a cop running tags on their laptop? They can literally get the driver's personal information, the picture, address and phone number and such. And of course the vehicle information too. My occupation allows me to work with cops and I once had to run a tag, which the cop I work with did for me, right next to me. They can find out who you are and track you down with just the tag info. Another secret is that the cities have cameras in many places to automatically run the tag. All of the vehicles that enter the property I work at will get their tag scanned by the city owned cameras. One day, a wanted person entered the property and the camera ran her tag and informed the PD. Then like 6 cops arrived on site a few minutes later to arrest the individual.
This is in GA. Things may be different in different states. But I know for sure that at least in here, tag info gives everything out.

As a fan of both companies. It's stupid, but I can't complain.
Mazda (For now) seems to prioritize quality and engineering over their competitors.
From a car person, this is like putting an AMG badge on a 3 series.

Agreed, my mom is looking for a new car, but doesn’t want to spend tesla money. Only other car I can recommend is Mazda. The cx-50 is fantastic value for the money.

It's a good looking ride too.
They're not loaded with a lot of tech compared other stuff in the price range, but it will (probably) last forever.
I own a 21 Mazda 3 and I can see myself being with this brand for a while.
Once I figure out where I want to settle down, I plan on getting a Tesla but I want to make sure I do it right.
Nothing defeats stop and go traffic like an EV.

You can buy all sorts of emblems and logos on AliExpress. Audi, toyota, Ford pinto, etc. I personally want to put on a 1.6 L turbo diesel decal, but I drive sort of fast so don't want the attention
