Ep 29: Yu Qianqian defends her maid from Sui Yuanhuai/Qi Min and calls him pitiful. He explains to her his real identity and says she's his woman so she won't betray him (Press X to Doubt). He says he has a tiger tally that proves Prince Changxin is a traitor. (The tiger tally lets someone move troops, the two sides have to match to prove it's genuine) Xie Zheng also learns that Bao'er is the Imperial great-grandson.
Who gave this couple warm light???
Qi Min wakes up alone and finds out Yu Qianqian drugged him and ran away. She finds Fan Changyu. They are almost immediately caught up Qi Min, but then reinforcements arrive in the form of General He. Yu Qianqian threatens to stab herself and Qi Min backs down. Fan Changyu goes with General He to Lucheng. He asks to spar with her:
They both have flashbacks to Fan Changyu's father. General He reveals that he's old friends with her father. He also gifts her armour. Li Huaian also shows up.
Xie Zheng is going to attack near Lucheng. Fan Changyu talks with Tutor Tao, who talks about the realities of war, basically everyone suffers so if it can be resolved quickly that is best. We get a flashback to Xie Zheng giving Fan Changyu the swords he forged. She is angry at him for cutting himself. Gongun Yu visits Yu Qianqian and asks about Qi Min. She explains CPR to him (it's scandalous). General He is going to send Li Huaian to support Xie Zheng's attack. The city itself will have a small force left for defence.
Aww, they found Granny Kang's grandson. Fan Changyu departs with Yu Qianqian for Lin'an. We learn that General He named Fan Changyu.
Lucheng is under siege. Fan Changyu decides to return to the army.
Ep 29: Xie Zheng is facing the Sui army lead by Prince Changxin. They charge at each other
Fan Changyu is fighting with Li Huaian, who is injured. Fan Changyu has him knocked out and takes over. Fan Changyu and Xie Zheng meet up on the battlefield and luckily he gets over how hot she is in armour and keeps focused on fighting. She also refuses to be protected and he smiles when she says that which was great.
Xie Zheng faces off with Prince Changxin and Fan Changyu is fighting Sui Yuanqing. He kills Mandi (little Pig Butcher Squad guy) and gets away. Xie Zheng goes to defend the city. Fan Changyu faces off against Prince Changxin and wins. Her victory strikes flash to her butchering pigs. When Fan Changyu kills him, Prince Changxin flashes back to her father and a tiger tally.
Princess Qi Shu treats Fan Changyu's injuries. She feels guilty for not winning the battle sooner and saving General He, who died (with all his secrets...?) Li Huaian is extremely angry that Fan Changyu knocked him out. He delivers a letter from her father to General He. This letters reveals that her father was really the traitor Wei Qilin, who delayed provisions and caused the army's defeat. She dreams about being a child and her mother being angry that she was playing a game about Wei Qilin:
Xie Zheng shows up but Fan Changyu can't bring herself to tell him the truth about her father's identity. The lying shoe is on the other foot.
Li Huaian is sent funeral couplets by both the Wei and Li factions for General He. He burns them both. I'm sure this is very significant but I was just worried about him burning his hands. The faction he picks is General He's legacy and serving the people.
Fire safety before political machinations
Creepy Sui Yuanqing is being creepy, though this time I guess for a good reason, he's trying to hide out but his own family tried to poison him. So he killed them all. The only surviving daughter begged him for protection, then contemplated killing him, and then drank poison.
Bandit lady?
Qi Min finds Sui Yuanqing, who has decided against continuing the rebellion. Qi Min informs his fake brother that Fan Changyu killed their father, which gets Sui Yuanqing all excited to keep rebelling.

Novel bits: Tutor Tao's internal thoughts (Xie Zheng gives Fan changyu Sunsun the bird when they part in the novel)
Grand Tutor Tao, standing nearby, said, “Girl, it’s rare for this brat to be so generous. Don’t be polite to him. He hasn’t shown any filial piety to me in all these years, but now he’s willing to give away all his good things…”
He was feeling a bit sour and disgruntled, thinking to himself that the old saying was true: boys forget their mothers once they have wives. His treatment as a half-father figure wasn’t much better.
But then he thought, this half-daughter-in-law was also his goddaughter. It wasn’t a bad thing for his simple girl to have a cunning brat protecting her. Not only did he stop feeling sour, but he even felt quite pleased.
