I climb because I have to, I climb because I want to. I climb for the taste of flesh, I climb for the glory of Lucifer. I climb for the feast, I climb because I am one with the hellspawn the monster dug its claws into the hard metallic ground, its excitement growing with every inch it climbed.
For thousands of years we have climbed, for thousands of years we have not broken tradition as we do what we do to feast, to honour our great lord and master Lucifer It ripped its claws through the dirt and the granite now its climb was softer, easier.
We are nothing but the hellspawn, the surface dwellers of hell yet we are granted the privilege of leading the charge. We are the front line and we get to feast on those that demons would puke at the thought of The monster dug until it could feel no more, it dug until its limbs bled and its mouth grew dry and raw, all for the glory of Lucifer and the feast.
The humans think of themselves as gods, the think they are the order, the think they are in charge. In a way they are right, but only because we allow it. Lucifer has said his piece and now the humans must come to an end, their reign was long and cruel, they destroyed far more than any before them and now they must perish. It is quite ironic, without their foolish stampede to reach the stars they would have been granted many more years, but now they must die. As the monster spoke to those under its command it finally felt different, it felt like it was going to break the surface any moment now and those above would flee in terror and bow to the hellspawn in prayer of not being mutilated.
They will grab their children and they will shield them from us but we will tear through their flesh like butter and we will savour the taste. The monsters eyes bulged as he broke the surface and filtered sunlight poured through the clear and crisp water, he had hoped he was not in the ocean miles from land, he would miss the fun. The water cascaded through and around him as it fell through the hole and down the hole to hell. Eager for flesh and blood the monster ran for the surface of the water to be relieved he was on land, there were beautiful trees and fluttering butterflies, sunlight shone between the trees and hit him like an unwelcome pest. He scowled at the light but grew used to it, perhaps Lucifer would one day rid this world of this holy burden.
Master, the monster spoke to the one the humans would soon be calling Azrael I have arrived! I will begin searching for flesh and feast upon it immediately

The monster stopped its joyous jump between trees before asking what is the matter, master?
We must wait for his highness to give word, if we strike now we will be forever smited and barred from all other feasts to come. A punishment I would not kindly accept. Search for them, place yourself in position and wait for my word. Do as I say or Lucifer will not be the only one you will have to answer to
yes master the monster reluctantly agreed. He slowed his charge to a brisk walk, his 6 limbs clambering up trees as he looked around for a human presence before descending once again. Hours passed as he searched, perhaps fortune had not smiled upon him this day as no human could be seen for miles. Just as he sulked his way up the next tree he heard laughter. HUMANS he leaped off the tree and ran in the direction of the human sounds, being cautious not to alert any unseen humans around him. He saw a glowing light in the air behind a small hill as the sun crept downwards granting him the opportune moment of attack. He crept up the small hill and sighted a small feast of delicate and frail human bodies to decimate. Master, I have found some fleshbags, what of Lucifer and his commands?
Do nothing, lay in wait. There are many more in your position, we just have to be patient. It will be worth the wait
“You have a piercing WHERE?!” Jessica asked Noah in surprised delight. Sophia burst out laughing, Noah was clearly playing Jessica for a fool but only she could not see it.
“I sure do, you wanna see it?” Noah asked her as he stood up with his hands around his underwear, they had been playing strip poker and most of them had been reduced to just their underwear. Jessica pretended that she was grossed out but everyone else could tell she wanted to see it, Noah went to sit back down but Liam started chanting.
“OFF OFF OFF OFF” to which Jessica joined in followed by the rest of the group. Under intense peer pressure and scrutiny he yanked his pants down showing for all to see, everyone in the group cheered loudly. Jessica made a thumbs down gesture as he was most certainly not pierced.
Sophia got up and tugged at William’s shirt to get him to follow her, he knew what she had in mind.
“Hey, I want to show you something.”
“Oh yeah?” Sophia asked.
He grabbed her hand and ran off bare feet into the forest, he walked her around to the other side of the lake when he heard something in the trees.
“Stay back” He said pushing her back with his open hand as he looked inquisitively into darkness. The noise got louder and louder as he heard clanking and rustling leaves when a bear came out from behind a tree sniffing some empty cans buried in a pile of leaves. “It’s just a bear” He said to her.
“JUST a bear?!” Sophia shouted quietly “What are we going to do?”
“We just don’t scare it, quietly make your way that way” He pointed in the direction they had been walking anyway. They sneakily walked off with the bear unawares of their presence. They eventually came to a small outcropping of large rocks that gave cover on all sides but the entrance and the view of the lake. Inside was a small pond which seemed to glow blue under the right type of light.
“Oh my god this is amazing!” Sophia shouted with glee, making William smile. He checked the temperature of the water with his foot, earlier in the day Daniel had started shouting something about the lake being on fire. They all made mad dashes out of their tents and caught up with Daniel and sure enough the lake was on fire, not exactly fire but it was boiling hot with huge bubbles popping every second and steam trails rising from the water in intense heat. Nobody could make heads or tails of it, not even Daniel who was supposed to be the smart one. The water never calmed down after that, it just kept at a constant temperature with no signs of settling down. Nobody could find anything on the internet about this particular lake doing it, but there were multiple recent reports of other lakes around the world doing the same.
“It’s ok, you can go in.” He said to Sophia as she looked in wonder at the lake bubbling and letting off immense amounts of heat. She smiled and dipped her toe in just to check before getting in the water.
“Ah, It’s so warm.” she said with pleasurable sigh.
“I call it the moon pool.” He said to her, she knew he was just showing off but she went along with it.
“The moon pool? That’s a nice name, I wish we could live here.” She leaned her head back and rested it on a rock and closed her eyes. “This is SO nice” William stared at her in a loving way and did the same.
“Whats wrong?” Isabella asked Daniel, they were both sat next to each other in their underwear but now the conversation had been split into different groups.
“Nothing,” He said staring down at his phone “Ok there is, it’s just that… my mum hasn’t called me yet.” He looked at Isabella with a worried look. Everyone else in the group had stopped talking and looked at him. They all started laughing.
“Come on guys maybe it’s serious or something!” Isabella said throwing a shoe at them.
“Maybe he needs to call you mum, oh mum I miss you so much mum please call me mum pleaaaaase” Ava joked around, to which all Daniel could do was give her the middle finger.
“She’s got cancer and she makes sure to call me every day, which she has done without fail until now,” Everyone in the group instantly shut up and stopped insulting him. His mum didn’t have cancer, but she did call him every day so he was worried. “I’m going to go call her by the lake.”
“Ok,” Isabella smiled at him “Have fun, and say hi from me!” everyone else started saying me too, me too. He reached the lake and dialled her number in, it rang for several seconds before she finally answered the phone.
“Hello?” She asked, as if she didn’t see his number.
“Hey mum it’s me, Daniel.”
“Whats wrong?” she asked while eating an orange.
“Oh nothing… just that you haven’t called or anything, you always call.” Daniel suddenly realised how pathetic he sounded, if Isabella was to want to stay with him he had to man up. He noticed something on the other side of the lake, some kind of weird shadow moving in a weird way.
“Daniel… everything’s fine don’t worry, I’m just happy youre out of the house for once and having fun! I thought I would leave you alone until you got home, is that alright?” She asked with a demeaning tone.
“Oh… Ok, thanks I guess”
“That’s alright, don’t forget to call me when…” The phone cut off followed by a repeated beeping noise.
“Hello? Mum? Mum?” he hung the phone up and went to call her back when Isabella showed up.
“Hey, I just came over to see how you’re doing. Don’t worry about those lot again it’s just what they do.”
“I know it’s ok,” He looked over to the weird shadow “You see that over there? What is that?” he asked Isabella. She looked over.
“That? That’s William and Sophia, it’s his moon pool” She put on a hint of mockery as she said ‘moon pool’
“William and Sophia are they? Oh! Oh right!” Isabella started laughing and put her hand on his shoulder.
“Yup, that’s them alright” Daniel felt stupid, how could he not see what it was? “Come on, lets head back”
“Don’t do it Liam you know you cant handle it!” Ava said to Liam, he had just accepted a dare to down 5 cans of beer.
“You once again underestimate me my fair lady” He said with confident arrogance. She submitted and let him do his thing. He grabbed the cooler and started chugging the beers, he handled the first 3 alright but he was visibly struggling on the 4th and on the 5th it took him much longer than the first.
“Woooh!” Liam shouted as he smashed the two cans together. Just as the others started to cheer they watched in horror as two sets of claws ripped through Liam’s chest and tore him apart to reveal a hellish monster with grinning teeth and red eyes staring back at them. As the rest of the group looked on in shock and disbelief the flames on the monsters body flicked violently in the air as blood splatter fell through its body.
Hello. The monster said to the rest of the group in an almost comical way.
Ava, Jessica and Emma all started screaming as Noah and Phil started shouting curse words while they attempted to run away. The monster grabbed ahold of Phil’s spine and pulled him round and brought Phil's face up to his own Where do you think you’re going? it asked him in a cool manner, but all Phil could do was spurt blood from his mouth as the monster ripped his spine out and chomped down on his head.
“Phil!” Ava shouted as she watched the monster rip his head off in 1 clean swoop. It looked up at Ava and grinned as Phil's blood dripped through its jaw.
It’s a shame really, I like to see them suffer Ava started screaming again.
“What the hell is that?” Daniel asked Isabella as they casually walked back to camp.
“Just the guys being assholes again, I thought we were past the whole me and you thing.” Isabella replied with a sigh.
“Yeah, jokes get boring after you tell them more than once.” Daniel was trying to impress Isabella with smart words, it didn’t seem to work much as she just kept on walking with no change in her face. A gunshot resounded through the air “What the fuck is that?!” Daniel shouted, they started picking up the pace until they reached the camp. The screams of Jessica hit their ears cautioning them to slow down, Jessica's limbs and drops of blood came flying through the air and splattered them, the limbs flew over their heads.
“Hoooly fuck what is that!?” Isabella asked showing visible signs of panic.
“It’s… Jessica, that’s her arm.” Daniel responded with a gulp as he pointed out Jessica's wristband.
Come out come out little humans stop playing this little game and let me murder you The monster prowled around the camp looking for more meals to eat.
“What was that?” Daniel asked to which Isabella just shook her head. They laid on the floor and crawled up to the camping area, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Bits of Liam and Phil were all over the floor and Jessica’s body looked like it had been launched through the air, all her limbs were missing. Another gunshot. Noah had managed to grab the gun and began shooting at the monster, the bullets seemed to fly straight through it.
Stop irritating me stupid human, they won’t hurt me, The monster said with a grin.
It approached Noah and began to slash at his chest violently before he could get another shot off. Noah's torso was bleeding profusely and he started to show signs of unconsciousness just as the monster purposefully broke all his limbs and ripped his jugular out. The gun fell to the floor next to his corpse.
The monster started to prowl around, looking for more humans to munch on. Come out come out where ever you are, I do not like working for my food There was a snap of a twig to which the monster leaped at followed by the screams of two girls, Ava and Emma. I’m going to rip your face off and make your friend eat it It told Ava as he had pinned them both to trees through their shoulders.
“Fuck you, creep!” Ava said as she spat blood in its face after screaming in agony.
That wasn’t very nice! it dug its claws under her face and ripped it clean off before jamming it in Emma’s mouth as Ava screamed in pain. I told you didn’t I? She kept screaming, begging for mercy. Oh shut up, it said before jabbing its claw into her throat. The sound of a car engine revving up caught his ears, he let go of Emma and ran for the noise. WHERE ARE YOU GOING?! WE AREN'T FINISHED YET!
Daniel pressed down the accelerator before realizing the handbrake was still on “Shit!” he shouted as he pushed it down.
“Go! Fucking go!” Isabella screamed at him.
“Doing the best I can!” He screamed back. While the monster was distracted they had grabbed Noah’s gun from his corpse and Ava’s car keys from her tent. Daniel reversed the car and spun it around.
“Wait! Wait for us!” He looked back and noticed William and Sophia running at them, they would never make it in time.
“Shit!” he debated with himself to wait or to just go and save himself and Isabella.
“Don’t you fucking dare!” She shouted at him, looks like he was waiting.
“Hurry up!” he shouted back.
“What’s going on!?” William asked as they reached the car and started climbing in. Daniel put his foot down on the accelerator and started speeding off.
“We don’t know, just some… some thing came out of nowhere and started ripping everyone to pieces! Everyone else is dead!” Daniel said in answer. Will took a few seconds to reply.
“Dead?! What!? You mean all that back there that’s…”
“Yup.”
“What thing?” William asked just as the monster jumped on the car and smashed the window in, it dug its claws through Sophia’s back and through her chest. She started coughing up blood. “Shit! Get the fuck off of her!” William tried to push the claws back through her but they wouldn’t budge, he started punching the monster in the face but it only seemed to laugh as it started pulling her back through the window scraping flesh and muscle along the broken glass.
“Take the wheel!” Daniel shouted to Isabella, she started steering as Daniel opened his window and aimed the gun at the monsters head and fired. The sound reverberated through the car deafening everyone as the bullet ripped through the monsters eye causing it to scream out in agony and fall back dragging Sophia with it. My eye! My eye! Come back here you took my eye! I want to take your eyes! I want to eat them! Come back!
“Sophia!!” William shouted. “Stop the car right now! Stop the car!!”
“No fucking way am I stopping this car you saw what it did to her.” Daniel said with a callous tone.
“Fuck you! Stop this fucking car!”
“Look!” Daniel shouted pointing back, the monster was looking at them, waiting. Once it noticed they were all watching it bit down on Sophia’s face and started chewing it. They all sat back and looked at the road ahead.
“Where do we go now?” Isabella asked calmly. Nobody answered as silence swept over the Jeep. Nobody would be sleeping tonight.
What was originally intended as 1 part is now 3, sorry about the lack of a part yesterday my illness hit me like a brick and still kinda is but with a softer more comfortable brick.
