Unemployment, PPP, EIDL, etc for *4/21/2020*
Hey.....so....yeah.... it's Tuesday again (I actually had to double check that.) If you're feeling stressed, down, depressed, and really need to talk to someone, I just wanted to plug (and I get nothing out of this, I swear) that Talkspace is offering free online therapy/community right now.
- For Small Biz Owners - Feel free to rant about the PPP and EIDL loans in here. The news is rife with lawsuits today. Any creative ways you've found your customers can keep supporting you?
- For unemployed WA residents - This post is a long (but still adding to it) list of questions answered by an ESD employee who has been helping Reddit users throughout the day (and night) to resolve problems while the phone lines are jammed. Please tag her (just use the @ and start typing her name) at u/pennypedro with any questions you have. I will add them to this FAQ. Feel free to also rant, complain, vent, etc. Or, if you've had a good experience, share.
If you're super grateful for any help you're receiving from Penny or these daily posts, and you feel like paying it forward, consider helping out your local Humane Society with volunteer hours, or a donation to the Humane Society's COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Note: I create these daily posts as a way our community can come together in this really difficult time that's affected us medically, economically, and mentally. Thanks for being so kind to each other and respecting everyone's needs! If you need to ask something and don't want to post publicly, DM me or Penny.
THE FAQ - just a note, this is a living document. I try to update it as often as I see something that can be helpful to most everyone.
A few things:
- Pending Claims - did you check pending issues? These could be; stating you are not available for work, saying you're in school (yes, that will trigger an issue regardless) but especially if you click not willing to drop your classes, the reason you stated for not having work (did you quit, or was there a lack of hours?....or other things I'll add here later.
- Make yourself as available to work as possible, even if you can't right this second.
- You do NOT have to look for work. Check "no".
- How long does adjudication take? A few hours to weeks. I'll try to get a better answer on this.

Don't see an FAQ here? Tag me or send me a message! I have nothing to do with the ESD, I just am trying to help people the best I can. Most of of these links go to other posts, and some in other subreddits. I'm just trying to pull things in one place in here. Again, let me know if you think something should be listed.
