[4007] Blood Summer Chapter One v.2 Urban Fantasy Romance

This is the full Chapter One from my dual pov work-in-progress, Blood Summer. I posted a slightly different version a while back but I've expanded it out since then and hopefully fixed some of the issues. It's long but it has two points of view (switches halfway) and I wanted to keep it as a whole rather than posting in two bits.

It's MM paranormal romance, vampires specifically. Very first scene is a NSFW pickup/sex scene, although not particularly explicit and I'm trying to thread the needle between deliberately unsexy and not making readers think every sex scene will be like this. Tell me if it works.

There's a lot of worldbuilding, and I'm wanting to find out if it all works, or if it's clunky, infodumpy, unnecessary, not explained well enough etc, what I can cut and still keep it coherent, etc.

And of course prose issues, sentence construction, story, pacing, characters, dialogue, anything really. Literally anything.
