Some of you may remember me. I lost my husband to suicide in May of last year and lurk a lot, post a little.

I wanted to share some happy updates. I've been reflecting a lot lately on where I've been and all that's happened since then. The big one being last Friday, I got the keys to my first home <3. It was a mixed bag of emotions. I felt extremely proud of being able to buy a house on my own for me and my daughter but also bittersweet that I was moving on in such a big way.

We've also conquered some behavioral stuff lately with the help of play therapy (highly recommend if you can afford it/insurance covers it). We were having twice daily biting a few months back with no sign of slowi

Last Thursday marked a year since I lost my husband to suicide. It's been a wild and whacky ride. Things had been going fairly well. I've been doing counseling, going to a support group, work has been great. The 2 weeks leading up to the 1 year anniversary were really rough but overall, I've been doing really well.

A FWB that I had been seeing since Christmas, told me in March that he was in love with me and asked to make things exclusive. I fell in love, he was here every weekend, helping me with things around the house, pampered me on mothers day, things were wonderful. Took him on a camping trip last weekend to meet my sister and some friends, he made an ass of himself and me. On Tuesday

It's been almost 10 months since I lost my husband to suicide. My daughter and I are doing great all things considered. We've established a new normal and most days are pretty damn good.

I'm still doing counseling regularly, I go to a support group for suicide loss, I have amazing support from family and friends but that hole, of having a partner is enormous. I've been dating quite a bit the last 8 months or so. At first it was just casual but I've been more intentionally trying to find a partner and it just seems completely impossible. I'm young (27) but having a child and a dead husband just seems to be far too complicated for most men, even though I'm very successful professionally, fina

So excited to be leaving the way too hot CA for Seattle for 4 days. Getting put up in a swanky downtown hotel for a conference for work. They're even offering yoga every morning before it starts. Here's hoping it rains so I can wear my new dressy rain coat :)

No changing diapers, no toddler tantrums, just grown up clothes and adult conversations :)

I miss him so much. It's been 3.5 months and I still can't believe he's gone. I found the slip of paper he wrote his vows on and just wanted to share.

My husband was a very sarcastic guy who rarely shared his feelings in a romantic way. When we first met he had compared me to a "sturdy old truck" in all seriousness. Further digging a hole, he said it was because I was reliable and he could always count on me even if I wasn't the flashiest thing around.

I thought his vows (we didn't share them with each other prior) would be the same way, so I tried to dial down the mushy factor on my own. He had expressed to me the week before that he was worried his would not be good enough and I assured

So it's been a little over 3 months and overall my daughter and I are doing really well.

The biggest thing I've gathered from this experience is that even in the darkest of times, there are things to be grateful for and beauty to be found. I always knew I had a very supportive family and group of friends, but I never really knew the depth of that support.

In the initial 2 weeks after he died, friends, family and strangers donated $15k to help my daughter and I get back on our feet. This was something that at the time I had no idea how crucial that would be to helping us move towards a new normal. People helped us move, cooked food, let me cry in their arms at work, offered up babysitting

It's been a month exactly since I found out my husband took his life. So much has happened in that time. We moved, had his memorial service, a Bay Area reporter shared his story on Facebook and it reached 500k pages, his birthday was Monday and yesterday I participated in commencement and received his Master's Degree on his behalf (he was weeks away from being done). The university did a great job of making us feel loved and special and when I walked across the stage, all the faculty stood and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I am starting to come to terms with this new life. Some moments I'm relieved I'm no longer on the roller coaster that is living with a depressed addict, some momen

Just wanted to provide an update and maybe some hope for others that are grieving or going through some tough stuff.

She is making me crazy. She's got a cold and is teething and is 17 months so everything is making her scream.

She's been biting and scratching me all morning and it's gonna be a God damn miracle if we make it to bed time.

I'm pissed off at my husband for leaving me alone to raise her by myself. All I want is to go far away and just forget the awful mess that is my life, but I can't.
