Hi,

5-10 years ago I read a paperback book about a secret wizard school in Arizona (I'm pretty sure Sedona) that was set in the modern day and was broken into a series of short stories about different students that were independent from each other. I remember a student who has shapeshifting powers and interacts with Coyote the diety / nature spirit, one student with dream powers who gets scammed / attacked by a pop artist she's a fan of, and one student who rides a motorcycle and has a rattlesnake totem of some kind.

Thank you in advance!

We just moved in to a new house, and some of the basement walls are painted concrete cinderblocks. We are looking to have them re-painted, and the painter we talked to mentioned that he could use some kind of material to cover up the joints and basically make the walls look similar to finished dry wall. Has anyone who has done that before had any experiences they could share, good or bad? It costs a few thousand dollars more than just re-painting but if it actually ends up coming out looking pretty close to a finished dry wall without the hassle / space loss we’d likely want to do it, but the wall is right next to an actually finished wall (dry-walled), so if it would look weird in compariso

Hi, I am just starting to get into plants and I recently had this pothos shipped to me. It was missing some dirt so I had to add some dirt and replant. However one part seems to be coming off the side and falling over. It almost seems separate from the main plant. Is this normal? Should I be doing something to fix it? Thanks very much in advance for any help. [Pictures] (https://imgur.com/a/2bFEjbR)

Walls of periwinkle blue with white ceramics in
floral, pastoral, and almost neatly smudged
designs, hanging beneath lights that softly
sigh out radiance to the bursting crowd within

Youth and age are intermingled evenly in
groups of two or five or ten strong, some shirts
shout with parrots on black print and then some
whisper and wink with the understated
elegance of clean white silk

Iced glass that tastes of honey clasped in
hand, you tilt your head in idle witness to some joyous
misadventure at the bar, and I see
the smile flicker that you try to hide

I touch a mix of spices to my tongue and know that it has lived a
thousand years or more before my

today guilt rode at the center of my chest
not a well-constructed sphere of nothing
no, a moth-eaten empty gash with edges that felt paper thin
like they could
collapse into a true hole in a moment
in the time it takes to clench a jaw or
scrape a knuckle along rough stone
and it sucked in fat and ribs from all around to fill itself
to stave off emptiness
and it’s the sucking that hurts,
that puts the pressure on your heart and lungs
it’s the vacuum that bites and pulls
and guards growling at the core of you
sometimes, if you stare it squarely in the eye
it will relax its jaws and let black sorrow seep out, softly
and it’s a mark of how the guilt can twist

Some Mornings

Feedback Received!

Sometimes there’s a morning when the sun just hits

you in the face, and all the star-touched soft-sigh moments from last night seem to

crystalize as rough, scrape your tongue hardness

I don’t mean hungover, when tarry tired eyes can be

a promise, an oath, that wild bodies rode waves of sound and

unreproached joy just hours before

I mean the mornings where you had just hit that sweet REM when

a faint bark and the gentlest eyes let you know it’s time to walk instead

the mornings where the bakery with iced coffee that makes you feel like

maybe you’re really living that city life they show in the movies

is closed, and not closed

for renovations, just for the sweet short window

We recently learned about solvation and effective concentration in my physiological chemistry class and I didn't understand this point. Our professor said that a 1M solution of glucose in water would yield the same effective concentration as a 1M solution of Na+ in water, because all that matters is the number of particles making hydration shells. What I don't understand about that is why a molecule of glucose and an Na+ ion take the same number of H2O molecules to dissolve them.

It seems to me that a molecule of glucose would take proportionately many more molecule of H2O to cover it effectively than an Na+ ion due to their relative sizes (I don't really know how different it would be, but

I saw this awhile ago on reddit actually and haven't been able to find it since. It was a short film, like 10 minutes I believe, and it chronicled the story of two adventurer type characters (a wizard and a warrior) that progress and get stronger in a dungeons and dragons like universe. The warrior loses his arm at some point I believe, and they kind of squabble at the beginning, but then they become better friends and at the end become very powerful. I also think it starts with some random powerful looking adventurer dropping a treasure map on the ground of the town the two main characters live in, and at the end as they are passing through a similar town one of them drops the same map on t
