Points sale

Points Question

Is there any point in buying points at this sale? Even at 110% they seem very expensive

My first right eye surgery resulted in a .5 refractive miss. I understand that this is in the acceptable range but I'm not sure what to do with the left eye now. I have an Eyehance base lens for distance and a dual lens of +2.0 on top of that. I can't have the base lens replaced because I have Fuchs dystrophy.

Currently ny midrange in the right eye is good (TV distance), poor at distance (can't read street signs) and reading my phone or a book is blurry. My surgeon is asking me to choose between near or distance for the left eye and I'm very concerned that I won't be able to read at all if I have another miss. All suggestions from this very helpful group are welcome

Does anyone know what happened to J&J fruit and vegetables stand near the Calgary Food Bank? Did they move or go out of business? Thanks

Hi, we're going to an onsen in Kyoto soon but it's across town and we'll need our phones to navigate and some cash for dinner after. We're aware of onsen etiquette but where do we put our cell phones, etc while we're there? Are there lockers? Thanks!

We're thinking of booking with Emerald in October. Has anyone done their Athens to Rome cruise? We're wondering, when their ship is offshore at Sorrento, how many times per day the tenders might run and do they stop running at sunset? Thanks for any advice. It's our first ocean cruise

I've read that the new Galaxy multifocals are excellent and have been available in Canada since January of this year. Does anyone know of a surgeon in Canada who is offering them?

Bit of background, I've always worn glasses, stable for the last few years at around -6 both eyes. I was looking into laser when my optometrist discovered that I had Fuchs dystrophy. Shortly after that, a cataract developed in my right eye. After much searching I found an extremely gifted surgeon who is an expert in Fuchs and also does IOL replacements. Here is my issue and my questions. I have traveled to see my surgeon twice (there's a short flight involved) and a set of duet lenses were ordered from Germany almost a year ago. My many queries about why the lenses were taking so long were not fully answered. I was last told that the delay was because it was the hospital that ordered them (a

My current gas hot water heater vents through the chimney of my 1910 home. I have to replace the roof to insulate it so I want to remove the chimney and change the 40 gallon gas water heater to an electric one. I'm having a hard time finding someone to take this on. There is an existing 240 electrical line available. Who should I call? Pete the plumber only installs their 50 gallon tanks. Home Depot says they can't do it. Thanks for listening to my tale of woe. And ps I know electric will cost more than gas and given the trade off in comfort I'm willing to pay for it

Has anyone here had the 1st Q lens implanted? My surgeon is suggesting it be placed over a J&J distance lens. Apparently the 1st Q are easy to remove and replace if needed. It's a German lens and I'm not able to find much user satisfaction information. Thanks

Salerno Hotel or bnb recommendations?

Accommodation !!MUST PROVIDE TRAVEL DATES!!

Hi Salerno afficionado! We're going to be in Salerno from October 4 to 8th and I'm having a hard time finding accommodations. Due to my husband's bad back and dietary restrictions we need a hotel or a bnb with a soft bed and a breakfast with eggs, although the bed is the priority. We can always go out for breakfast. There are a lot of bnbs online but when I take a deep dive into the reviews most of them look a bit grim. Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks

Naples to Caserta Palace

Tourism & Travel Questions

Would someone please tell me the best way to get to Caserta Palace from Naples using public transportation? The only info I can find says the bus takes over an hour and a half to get there. Is that the only option? Thank you for any suggestions

First time to the Amalfi area and not sure how many days we'd like to stay (2 adults). Hoping to book last minute hotel deals online for maximum flexibility when we arrive. Ravello is a must see for us. Is this even possible or am I dreaming? Thanks for any advice.
