I want to preface this by saying I don't have an issue with other people having non-traditional relationships as long as those relationships are consensual among all parties. This is more concerning a situation where one person is simultaneously "dating" more than one person, none of whom have any idea the others exist.

This is coming out of a situation where I ran into a girl I was seeing on a date. We had really just started getting together frequently but all signs were pointing to things going really well. A few days went by and I didn't mention anything because I didn't just want to assume it was a date, but then when she texted me asking why I hadn't hit her up recently so I asked wha

What I want you all to take away from this post is that especially as a Democrat, I accept and appreciate the findings of the Mueller Report but I simply wish that he made a call, even a non-binding recommendation for congress.

Three facts form pretty much my whole opinion -

  1. Bob Mueller could not prosecute Trump because of DOJ guidelines. It is congress's job to impeach and prosecute the president if need be.

  2. Trump is guilty of serious but overly specific ethical wrongdoings that have not really been tested in court as amounting to criminal acts. This makes a recommendation from the special counsel based, to the best of my knowledge, on shaky criminal law grounds.

  3. Everyone ex

For a refresher for those who need it, federalism is simply referring to the balance of powers between the states and the federal government. If you recall, we were once a confederacy with a weak central government, and the South wanted to remain a confederacy to keep slavery and that caused the civil war. Federations, on the other hand, have strong federal governments with some power to override the legislative actions of individual states.

The US runs on a system that is too much of a compromise. On one hand, Roe v Wade has been the law of the entire United States since 1973, guaranteeing a constitutional right to abortions up to a certain point in pregnancy. On the other hand, state imp

Hey Docs,

I'm a 22 year old male on a budget trying to figure out how to deal with IBS. I've never been diagnosed with it but it doesn't really take a genius to realize chronic stomach problems are likely due to having a diet that doesn't fit my body's needs.

Just a little more info on myself, I'm in pretty good shape, about 180lbs and I work out at least 4 times a week. I've had stomach issues since I was a teenager but only over the last 2-3 years have I noticed it getting worse and inhibiting my ability to do things. I don't have a ton of time to cook every day but I'm pretty good at it when I have the chance. I take Zyrtec to help my seasonal and dust allergies but that's the only medi

I want to start this off my pointing out three things that inform my opinion.

  1. I heavily lean Democratic so this is not a partisan issue to me.

  2. There is nothing inherently wrong with a sweeping anti-hate bill. It's just bad timing.

  3. The bill should have been targeted at anti-semtism and other bills cover other groups. This would have allowed the Democrats to point at certain Republicans for not supporting certain groups, not for opposing a sweeping bill. It's bad strategy to do it all as one.

I feel like the Democratic response to Rep. Ilhan Omar's statements and subsequent reactions was pretty weak. It reminds me of the pushback against black lives matter when conservatives woul

This is a pretty simple view of mine so I'm keeping this short.

Basically, my view is that ICE as an organization is problematic beyond immigration control. It might not even be the individual agents' faults, but the culture of the bureau has gotten so out of whack that the only solution would be to abolish ICE and replace it with a new immigration control bureau that is designed to be more sensitive to racial issues, foreign affairs, refugees, and child immigrants.

All of these stories I hear about ICE are upsetting to me not because they're doing their job, but how they're doing their job. Immigration control is necessary, but not at the cost of dignifying an agency that has basically de

Hi CMV,

This is stemming from a joke my friend made while we were watching season 4, but after I was done laughing I started to actually think this is too possible to ignore. Basically my view rests around the idea that the popularity of Game of Thrones put the idea of a border wall into the heads of the American public. The timing is too perfect, as seasons 4 and 5 are, in my view, the seasons when Game of Thrones got huge. There's also some plot stuff that makes sense too.

Here are the specifics -

Timing: By season 4, viewership had increased to nearly 20 million, a sizable fraction of US voters. Season 5 had even more. These seasons were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Trump's

I want to preface this by admitting I have no inside knowledge on the music industry and only a basic understanding of marketing. I do, however, follow my favorite artists very closely and have seen time and again issues with releasing music being the catalyst to a rift between artist and label.

For those who don't know what I mean by cannibalization, it means that a company should hold off releasing a new product if their currently circulating products are still profitable. The idea is that companies should milk the profits of a product as long as they can and only release new ones when the old ones no longer bring in money. In music, label execs seem to think that if an artist releases a

I can't find the link right now but I made a note of what was in this meme that I've been seeing float around my Facebook feed recently. Basically the meme was one of those dark background/white text memes that look like Twitter or might actually have been an uncredited Tweet. Regardless, it suggests mandating a practical approach to high school education with classes dedicated to teaching subjects that are more closely related to real life experience rather than the traditional studies. While I certainly think there is a place for these practical subjects, I feel like it's a misuse of school time where students shouldn't be expected to grow up as teenagers, rather learning how to study (gen

I'm really curious to see how people come to the defense of this way overused word. There are a number of perfectly good synonyms yet people still choose to repeat the word problematic over and over again within any conversation to the point where it diminishes the argument being made.

I know Urban Dictionary isn't remotely an academic source, but a definition of "problematic" that I just came across on that site sums up the word perfectly.

*"A corporate-academic weasel word used mainly by people who sense that something may be oppressive, but don't want to do any actual thinking about what the problem is or why it exists. Also frequently used in progressive political settings among White
