Am I just old fashioned or is sbarr out of fashion now?

*Wall of text that goes off on a tangent*
I'm a grown ass fucking adult that still feels so infantilised by my interactions with my APs. I'm 25 but when I'm dealing with them, I still feel like a child in how little they take anything I say seriously.
According to my APs, anything that I have been involved in that has gone wrong is my fault. It's getting to the point where I can no longer judge whether if a bad outcome is actually due to something I did- I just assume it is. This has extended to all facets of my life too. Social interactions that's gone a bit cold? I think I said something wrong. Something at work that was a suboptimal outcome? My fault until proven otherwise and then s
I feel like I’ve developed very maladaptive responses from my Asian upbringing. Things like getting criticised for small mistakes especially when starting out, parents’ first response to issues being to assign blame instead of solving problems and the whole trying to vicariously live through their children.
I’m just realising now that I’m super avoidant of making mistakes and afraid to try new things. I’ve started my job a month ago and every time I make any mistake my immediate response is to catastrophise and go omg everyone is gonna think I’m incompetent.
Not to mention that they still think that they are the absolute authorities in whatever they’re talking about and give completely in
I've recently developed a gut issue and saw my GP about it, who started me on some new medication.
Except my parents are strongly anti-medication, to the extent that they think it's entirely harmful and that 'young people should never need to take any medication'. I tried to explain the indication and the fact that both myself (I have some med background) and the GP thinks it will be a good fix for the problem, they are entirely convinced that it can be solved by 'diet and exercise'.
I just genuinely hate how these people, with their negative amounts of medical knowledge, feels the need to police my body and what I take for symptoms that I FEEL, just because of their sideways convictions
I have an ASROCK z590 motherboard with built in wifi. I tried to install a new wifi card just then and when I tried to turn it on, it crashed and gave me a BSOD.
Since then, I have been unable to boot at all. I can't reset the pc. Even trying to boot into safe mode is giving me another blue screen with Critical_Process_Died.
I can't even reset my windows because when I tried to reset my pc it just says unable to download and also would not let me reinstall via the local reinstall option.
I feel completely at a loss here. Are there anything else I can do?
Title.
How do you even have a real discussion when their argument is always based off of 'facts' that they've made up and they believe in entirely? No matter what topic it is it's a game of she said he said and I'm somehow always wrong.
Their greatest hits include:
'You don't do exercise. Exercise only counts if you go in the sun.' (I go to the gym.)
'You're always sick because you don't do any exercise.' (See above. I also go outside and get steps in going to work).
'That strong tea you always drink is why you always have an upset stomach.' (It's 1tsp of earl grey in a full pot)
*Ask for medical advice* *I give medical advice because I'm in that field* 'No I don't think that's
NO YOU'RE WRITING IT WRONG IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS.
and I end up writing the most incoherent string of run on sentences because syntax exists in English.
Why would you say you want me to write something that sounds more fluent and then proceed to just hijack and make me suffer through writing absolute rubbish.
It is near impossible to diagnose quite a lot of conditions on clinical presentation alone, and even with investigations it can only raise or lower clinical suspicion. That's because medicine is evidence based, and investigations give us evidence towards a diagnosis which we can then treat.
Diagnosis is not a black and white process. It's not: 'because you have x and y symptoms and blood tests it is DEFINITELY this condition'. That's pseudoscience, and while it is a cleaner explanation it is also wrong. That's why the idea of differential diagnoses exist.
Im saying all this because I had to deal with a family, from my own culture (which hurts even more), who accused the medical team
It's been 2 weeks and I feel honestly all alone in the world. The first few days people were still checking in, but now it's just radio silence. I see my friends having a blast with couples, with close friends or alone but content, and I'm wallowing in my misery. She's probably out having fun with her new guy or her big group of friends... It's so not fair. Why do I have to suffer when I wasn't the one who cheated. I fought off my own feelings for other women, and my parent's dislike for her, and even tried my hardest to make space for her in my stifling schedule. Before we broke up, I've seen my friends a total of 2 times in 3 months, while I made time for her every week by skipping lunch a
22M broke up w 21F two weeks ago (dating for a year, was close friends for 3 years before that) after she admitted to accepting another guy's confession while still dating me. She said it was the hardest decision of her life, as she loved our relationship, but I wasn't able to provide her with the amount of emotional love she wanted. I was also going through a rough time in my training, and also was not in a good place to provide her with it.
Healing very slowly but I'm just very confused at the moment. I know what she did was cheating, but I really couldn't bring myself to hate, or even be angry at her. She appeared super broken about her decision, and I really felt like she regretted her
My girlfriend broke up with me today, and I’m just having a lot of self loathing because it was pretty much my fault. It all kind of overflowed as I went to bed and I was loud ugly crying in my bed.
Enter my mum:
“Stop crying. The neighbours can hear…”
“Well you said it wasn’t working out anyways.”
“ Mrs X’s daughter broke up from a 6 year relationship and she was fine.”
“You’re a guy you need to cope with these things.”
“We’ve gone through these things too it’s fine.”
…I was trying to let it all out but now I can’t even do that, plus a few extra hits from those comments. I already felt super alone and now I somehow feel even less supported even from my own parents. I was crying also
Title. 23M in medical school and I’m starting to feel like I have nothing to offer people to make me worth keeping around. I used to be very academic all the way up to university and I felt valued by friends because I could help them academically and they made it very clear that they appreciate me for that. But now I’m sitting in the middle of the road in terms of grades and knowledge, and people now look at me like I’m nothing special.
It’s the same for everything else I do. I gym but I’m nowhere near as fit or ripped as my gym friends because I don’t have the time to go as much as they do. They get heaped with compliments while I just try to hide the fact that I even gym because I have
Now that we've had a few years worth memorable Esports moments, I feel like it'd be cool to incorporate them into the game. Riot has already started to do this with the KAY/O Phoenix spray and the Rope Incident email on Fracture, but I think there's room more.
Ideas:
Titles: Nicknames for famous players, like El Diablo (yay), The Rat King (nAts). The King of Icebox (Derke), Iceman (Marved), Korean Jett (Seoldam), The Child of God (Dep)
Sprays: Some other moments that I think deserve to be in the game and what they might look like:
- Boaster op 4k (Astra holding an Op with a lightbulb over her head)
- Ardiis 1v3 (Chamber with 3 guns pointed at him and bullet tracers all missing)
- Hi
List of shit that my Mum did in the last 24 hours alone:
- 'I'm just having a conversation' while saying the most inflammatory things that's clearly intended to get a reaction, then plays victim when I defend myself.
- Making up lies to win arguments and putting words in people's mouths.
- Proposes a trip that we clearly don't have the financial means for, and then getting mad when we explained that it's not a good idea.
- Bringing up pointless (and possibly fictional) things from my childhood to insult my Dad's family, while disguising it as a 'discussion'.
- 'I'm ok with whatever you guys want.' Proceeded to reject everything my Dad and I offer and then saying it was our fault.
