Just hit by some random thoughts and wondering if someone else felt the same.

I considered myself a fencesitter not too long ago. But retrospectively, even when I was struggling with the decision, every time when someone asked me if I have kids, I laugh out loud like it was the funniest joke. Not doing that on purpose, it was just like I dunno blurting out....

I think deep inside I always felt it was a ridiculous and even shameful idea to make babies and be a parent. I just find it interesting that i have instincts like that.

Politics is all about power struggles. It’s the same everywhere. Everything we see is controlled. How can you be so sure that “this country I have never been to is totally fucked” purely based on some biased collections of “news” items? I don’t like when people are xenophobic. That’s just finding excuses to confirm that something you don’t know or understand is inferior. That’s not right.

Reason I’m posting here is cuz I think fellow Aspies are more likely to care about factchecking instead of jumping to conclusions based on intuitions.

It’s dumb I know. I’m a full grown adult in their mid 30s and I have a job and all that. I’m a passionate person and I love my life. Not that I believe in meanings of life but I enjoy spending time on my interests. I don’t want kids for many reasons but mostly I don’t want to shape another living being into something that suits my fantasy it feels wrong. Also I dislike kids with their screams and teens with their puberty. So yes I made up my mind. But being off the mainstream, sometimes I feel so much loneliness. It’s not that I want to go out with a bunch of people talking about something in common. It’s more like the occasional “fuck am I the only one thinking this way? Am I insane!?” Rig

Sometimes I got freaked out by how mature and self-aware young kids look on Instagram. I have a friend, well someone I know, mom of two, 3M and 5F. She posts a lot on instagram and they are usually about her kids (and sometimes her half naked husband for some reason) captioned “my princess at the piano practice”, “my little prince drawing a truck and talking about [some topic]”, “little ones had a new role model (was some other rando kids) and they are getting along very well”, etc. Anyway, point is, every time I saw those, I feel like they were full grown adults with self-awareness... Then I thought when I was 5 I barely knew how to put on my pants outside out... And when I met those kids s

Reading a post about the show breeders got me thinking about TV shows with CF characters being reasonably represented. There aren’t many! But then I realized there’s this one show, which happens to be my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE of all time, is actually very much CF friendly. Most characters are professional, reasonably happy, rational, curious, full of life and child free. The society they live in represents true freedom, equality, tolerance and respect. And the show is... STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION!!! Captain Picard is my forever role model!!!

Wait that was like from 30 years ago. Are we going backward that much???

I do sorta get it that many people have this urge or instinct of having kids. But objectively it is simply not a better choice for millions of reasons, like overpopulation, heavy load on the limited resources, climate change and all the uncertainties for the future, fucked up politics that is not getting better any time soon, unskilled parenting that might ruin a child’s life, what pregnancy does to a woman’s body... You name it! Yet, we are the ones who get criticized. And if you bring those up, they are gonna be like “you are overthinking it.” I get it “people are following the herd of course they act that way” and all that, but I still can’t stop being angry.

I’m on the spectrum and I’m childfree, which makes it so hard to make friends. Sometimes I feel like I’m completely alone on this planet. I’m introverted (shocker) but I enjoy communications with people when they make sense (fair, logical and coherent). Arguments like “I want to breed cuz I need care when I get old and they will take care of me” or “you will regret it” can literally cause me a meltdown. How do you know you are gonna be able to grow that old? How do you know they are gonna take care of you and be good at it? That’s such a long journey and how can you possibly predict the future?? And what would my “regret” look like? Like “oh I wish I have spent my time raising a child, so t

They have been fence sitter for a couple of years and now they have made up their mind. I would love them regardless but I’m still feeling really happy that they have made this choice. It means a lot to me that we are standing on a common ground and eventually reaching the same logical conclusion.

I’ve been always questioning the way we are diagnosed by showing the aspie traits. But how do these traits differ from what NTs have? How is aspie meltdown different from NT breakdown? How is aspie inertia different from NT procrastination? How is aspie lacking social skills different from NT just being socially awkward?? There’s no cross validation (e.g. physical evidence/measurement) that can prove any of these. How do we know for sure its not just because we are so desperate to find an explanation so here it is and we take it and run? How do we know it’s all real?? I’m always freaking out when thinking about this... Anyone has some research papers to recommend? Something that combines psy

It’s so hard to believe... I overheard some people having a chitchat today. Nothing special... was just about traveling, vacation plans, gossip, how was your day type of mumbo-jumbo. I imagined myself being part of the conversation and almost had a panic attack. It’s just so uninteresting and confusing. I would break into tears if I ever had to spend my time like that. It’s just so hard to believe that people actually enjoy those. I know I’m not “typical” but I’m still shocked that how different I am...
