DISCLAIMER
A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.
This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.
The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.
A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.
Crystal Maiden
Notes:
- Slowest base move speed in the game (except for techies)
- Frostbite lasts 10 second on creeps and does 100 DPS --> 1000 damage
- Good versus: AM, PA, Riki, CK, Slark, Void (frostbite disables movement spells, keeps them visible and disarms), Timber (frostbite disables chain and can't cancel CM ult), Meepo (frostbite disables poof and can't cancel CM ult), PL, Troll, Lycan, Ursa, TB (Frostbite disarms and they can't cancel CM ult), Chen, Enchantress, Dark Seer, HotD (frostbiting their creeps and on ion shell creep) (/u/Justice_DotaPlayer)
- Counters: Rubick (very easy ult steal), Earth Spirit (great long range disables for CM ult), Pudge (CM does not have great cast range and is very squishy, making her an easy target), Clock (easily cancels ult, doesn't care about frostbite), Phoenix (ult is great vs CM), Silencer (BKB piercing silence, can just wait out CM ult), Puck (easy in and out to cancel ult, high burst)
- Friends: Jugger, Mirana (lane combo)
- Frostbite does a mini-stun at the start
- Nova gives
flyingground vision, use it. (/u/DreamingItLoud) - Freezing Field explosions begin inthe North-East and go counter-clockwise. Its radius follows CM if she gets moved (Force Staff). (/u/Faelwhin)
Role: support
Item build: Tranquils, (Urn, ) Force staff/Blink, Glimmer (, BKB, Veil, Aghs, Ghost, HotD)
Skill build: lvl 1 frostbite, max aura <-> max frostbite -> max nova (Skill build is extremely flexible)
