Checking out some options but these all seem too featured or too expensive and I wanna know whats out there before I bite the bullet on anything. All I need is something that can process a PDF well - not get jumbled up on the footnotes and whatnot - and read it accurately. i dont even really need it to be a fancy AI voice, the old voiceforge TTS would serve me just fine, in fact I would actually prefer that for nostalgia reasons (long story). Hooking that up to a local OSR would be the dream but I don't know how to code that. Just let me know.

I have a 10+ year old average laptop and it's not really meant for gaming. 60fps in some interiors most of the time, and 30-40 usually. When I used to have a computer that could run Skyrim, there were these texture optimization mods available that would replace the game's textures with more optimized, better compressed ones, optimize lighting, et cetera. Is there anything similar? If not, could I make it myself? I figure one of yas has the technical know-how.

On an unrelated note, I'm running off Intel HD graphics 4000 and I get no model textures in inventory or character screen - Just the normal maps in inventory. -dxlevel 70 fixes it but makes the rest of the game look and run 10x wors

Title. I'm currenlty between trying to find a progressive-interlaced transcoder box (be it component or svideo out) and just using DVDRWs. Both have their perks, but I want to know what all is available, because progressive vga to interlaced component conversion seems to be somewhat rare, for whatever reason, and if I must downgrade to svideo i'd want to make sure its good svideo. I just don't know the price points on this stuff.

the only currently accessible download i have been able to find of the first pop'n music is in this weird ARC format. ive tried renaming it to rar, 7z, zip, iso, etc, but 7zfm refuses to open it still. I have no idea why its named this or how im supposed to use it. all of the existing FTP methods for soundtrack management seem to be windows programs - and wine network configuration deeply scares me, and i would rather not deal with that unless i have to. is there any documentation on the soundtracks.dat file online, and how to manually edit it? or simply some kind of program that doesnt require me to connect first, to begin editing....

currently have some cheaper ones i got off amazon for 5 bucks a while ago. horrid color banding and audio buzz. Wondering if anyone has experience w/ good solutions, that arent the official pack or the monster cables. i dont need perfect but i have a multiconsole energizer cable that does 360, ps2/3 and wii and thats pretty good. actually, a solid 360 to og xbox video adapter would be great for my purposes should one exist.... cause then, just one cable for all my 6th gen systems...

title. whenever i launch a game with them enabled none of the buttons do anything save for the PS button (that menu is navigable w/o trouble). anyone know what could cause this?

from poking around it seems EVGA is best but theyre also pretty expensive. Expecting a china version would fuck me over so im wondering what a good balance of cost and reliability is. Realize this is a pretty bad time to shop for these but my current card is on the way out.

Yeah, unless there's another card with <85 wattage and as good/nearly as good performance, OR something that is so much cheaper that it could cope the price of an additional PSU upgrade. Altho it might be smart to get that plus a beefier fan

The router that i was using as a hotspot went out a few hours ago, and since then every single hotspot has been stuck at an obtaining ip address loop. This has happened before but the problem fixed itself somehow after some hours of fumbling around with the app and resetting my phone/wifi settings, which I have also been doing now to no avail. That router has since been back online, yet I am still unable to connect to anything. Whats going on and how do I fix it whenever it happens again?

I have the most unpopular of unpopular opinions, but here goes: I really hate games, except for sports. Why? Because nearly all games require some level of secrecy and deception (eg, “don’t show your hand”), yet they’re usually played among friends/family. That’s not fun to me. I suppose it’s not the game itself that I dislike — it’s the strategy one must employ to win. I just don’t find it enjoyable to sit at a table, hiding things from people I love, for the purpose of winning something that doesn’t even exist outside the game. my current levelling ideas is: do enough to open up all fragile/expensive/short term, and then pump levels into long distance, then adr, then the other ones, then fuel efficiency when im done. i always pick the best $/km job within reasonable distance except for ferry stuff.

edit: ive tried all obs presets for output. at indistinguishable preset. mkv & flv are not recognized formats. mov gave file could not be opened error. mp4 & ts crashed vegas pro. m3u8 was unrecognized. what now
