Last night, at Sea of Dreams in SF, I died and became a vibration. No really.

I been a psychonaut for years. I took L for the first time at 14, some 15 years ago, and have tripped regularly on just about everything since, many, many times puddling myself with 10+ his of L, but last night was by far the most intense, positive psychedelic experience I have ever had.

Ego death? Guess so..

I was dancing with my girl and some friends and, well, I'll try and explain as best I can but this experience doesn't really lend itself to words. I am not sure exactly which of these things happened when, as time didn't seem to exist in the conventional sense so my recall may be out of order, but here it i

I though I could wait till the appropriate achievement day but I just couldn't wait to share.

I have been busy and let 4 days lapse since my last workout. I felt weak on all my main lifts today and then at the end I just pumped out the pull ups! 3 sets, 10, 6, 6. Previous best was 8, then today: BAM!

I have switched to squating low bar which has drastically improved my form, specifically I don't lean forward nearly as much as I used to. However, today my left hand went numb. As I type this, it is still tingling. What's going on? Should I be worried?

Also, after my SS 3 work sets I often deload and do another 2 sets of lighter weight to work on my form. Is this a good idea or am I over doing it?

Thanks for the input.

I submitted this once already, but it got no responses, so trying again:

Every time I work out I feel great. By the first work set of squats, after my warm ups, I am into it and loving it.

... yet every time it is a battle of will power to just get in a room with weights and start.

So why is that? Why is it that something that feels so good is so hard to start? It is some evolutionary survival conservation of energy thing?

Or is it just that inertia is a bitch?

So far my best strategy to overcome this has been pitting one form of laziness against another. I will force myself to either work out or work on business stuff. Working out usually wins.

Anyone else found effective mind tricks

Why does my motivation suck?

About a two years ago I promised myself I would get into better shape. At first it was highly sporadic, but the last 6 months or so I have been doing the starting strength practical programming rather consistently. I also started tracking my food and all that jazz.

So I was out in my garden, pulling weeds, as one is inclined to do, when I realized that most of my life I struggled with the bigger weeds because of the way I was trying to pull them. Calling these things weeds is a bit of and understatement. Maybe mini-trees with devil roots would be more appropriate. Anyway, I used to grab hold while bent at the waist and then kind of lean back/try and straighten my back to pull them. Couldn't get most of them.

Then it hit me.

I dropped to a low squat, grabbed hold, and pushed up with the best form I have.

I went flying back, mini-tree thing in hand.

Just wanted to share how this subreddit has effected me outside of the gym as well as inside.

... after reading all those form check threads I now know I can barely squat 155 and bench about the same. I guess It's better that I find out earlier than later that my form sucks but it is a bit of a psychological blow.

I had to call Comcast today to have the remove HBO from my bill. This is now the second time I have noticed it still on bill, despite my requests to have it removed. While looking at the rest of my bill I saw I pay $44.95 for 12 Mbps up and 3 Mbps down. The Comcast home page offers this same speed for $19.99 for the first 6 months for new customers.

Then it goes to $34.99 for months 7-12 before settling on a final price "from $42.95 to $60.95, and may vary depending on your area and other Comcast services (if any) received."

Why the fuck do I get punished for being a long term customer?

I used to routinely cancel and sign up again in a roommate's name, then switch to another roommate, the
