Ragnarok Mobile Archer/Hunter/Sniper Comprehensive Guide 5 - Sniper Skills
Ragnarok Mobile Archer Guide: Sniper Skills
Finally, we reach the last part of the skills guide, the Sniper skill tree. Like the Hunter skill tree, the arrow skills are on top, falcon skills in the middle and trap skills at the bottom.
The thing to note about 3rd Job skills, is that the first 10 job levels are really fast to get, then each job level between 11-20 is going to take as much time as it took to level from job 39 to 40. This means that you really need to plan out your first 20 skill points because it's going to take a long time getting skill points from job 21 onwards. I'll give recommendations for the first 20 skill points for each build type after discussing the skills one by one.
Now for the Sniper Skills breakdown!
- Focus Shooting - this skill's damage is impressive at 450% of your PATK at max level. What's interesting about it is that from lvl 6, the caster is healed based on 30% of the damage dealt. However, it has a long cast time and a long cast delay which limits it's usefulness. The availability of the Healing Cat isn't helping it either; the Healing Cat is much better at keeping your Sniper healthy because it doesn't need to be casted. There might be a build out there that can maximize this but personally I don't think it's worth it.
Recommended Skill Points: 0
- True Sight - wow, now this is a skill. This gives +5 all stats on all levels, and gives +1% PATK and 1 CRIT per level. Duration starts at 30 seconds, and maxes out at 60 seconds. Everyone should get this skill. Trappers probably need only lvl 1 for the all stats +5, while DPS and Blitzers need to max this skill. Not immediately though! There are a lot of other more useful skills in the Sniper skill tree. Keep it at 1 initially until you have the other skills.
Recommended Skill Points for DPS: 10
Recommended for Trappers: 1
Recommended for Blitzers: 1 or 10
- Wild Awakening - when your target goes down to 30% hp, this skill will activate. It will give you up to 30 CRIT and 30 blitz chance at max level. This skill is particularly useful when you have Tamer because it guarantees that it will always be active when your target is about to die. It's also what makes Snipers particularly useful in Boss Hunts because 30% of boss HP is still several hundred thousand so you're going to get a lot of mileage out of this. However, if you have a large amount of LUK, this is not going to be as useful to you; so gauge it's usefulness in your build before investing.

- Rounds Shot - I haven't personally used this skill so I can't really vouch for it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use it actually. I guess that's a sign of how bad it is?
Recommended Skill Points: 0
- Deterrence - this skill is absolutely bonkers if put in a MOBA. At max level, it has a whopping 50% chance to stun for 5 seconds. Targets stunned by this skill also receive 15% more damage from everyone in the party! Also, when you stun a target, succeeding Falcon Assaults and Hunting Assaults get amplified! I highly recommend getting this skill for Blitzers and Falconeers.
Recommended for Blitzers/Falconeers: 5

Recommended for Trappers: 0 or 5
NOTE: a lot of people got confused by this skill because the initial translation says Blitz Beat can trigger it. It's actually a translation error; this skill only works with Falcon Assault and Hunting Assault. The Roguard Team fixed it with version 2.23 of the english patch.
- Hunting Assault - a falcon skill that does AoE damage and ignores defense. The best part about this skill is that every enemy it hits can be stunned by Deterrence. It's basically an AoE stun and it can stun lock enemies as long as you have SP. Kept at level 1, it can be used as Crowd Control/Damage Amplify skill, at max level it's an AoE damage source. This skill is great!

Recommended for Trappers/Blitzers: 1, 5, or 10
Recommended for Falconeers: 10
- Tamer - this skill boosts PATK for 3 seconds when the falcon attacks (both auto and casted counts) and can stack 2 times. At max level, that's 30% PATK increase! Paired with Wild Awakening, this makes Snipers even deadlier when the target is almost dead. Highly recommended for ADL and Blitzers. Pure AD won't have as much use out of this since they lack the stats to trigger it reliably.
Recommended for DPS: 10
Recommended for Blitzers: 1, 5, or 10

- Wind Walk - This is the only defensive skill in the Sniper Skill Tree. It gives 2 flee and 2 movement speed per level. Wind Walk is a skill that sounds great on paper, but falls short in practice. Most Snipers will not have points for this skill, or will get it really late when content is too difficult for 20 flee to matter. The movement speed boost can be useful when travelling or boss hunting but I usually have my priest with me to cast Agi/Bless which negates the extra speed. The only time I can see this becoming useful is if the sniper always plays alone. Otherwise, skip it.

- Landmine - this is the best damage trap in the sniper's kit. It has the highest damage multiplier and does earth elemental damage. Paired with Trap Mastery, this skill can reach insane amounts of damage. This first came into the spotlight before the GH patch when people used to 1 shot Eggyras with Landmine, but people have found other targets that can exploit the earth elemental damage it provides. Trappers have to max this skill.

- Trap Mastery - increases the trap limit by 1 every 2 levels, increases INT by 1 every level and increases Trap damage. Another must max skill for Trappers. Maxing this and Landmine along with a lot of INT will ensure that your Trapper will level fast on Eggyras. Blitzers and Falconeers can make use of the additional INT even if they don't get any traps.

Recommended for Falconeers and Blitzers: Put spare skill points here

- Sandman Trap - The last skill in the Sinper Skill Tree. If you've ever tried fighting a Giearth, you'll know how annoying/great this skill is. This can be considered a utility skill because of it's usefulness. At max level, it has 100% chance to sleep a target and surrounding enemies for 20 seconds. Enemies will be immune from sleep for about 1 or 2 seconds so be prepared to delay recasting it a bit after they wake up. In PvP, this can be used to make sure that your next attack will hit because sleeping enemies have 0 dodge. All builds can benefit from having this skill, so I suggest taking it when you can.
Recommended for people with spare points: 5
Here are the recommended point distribution for the first 20 points:
DPS
True Sight 1
Wild Awakening 1
Tamer 1
True Sight 1->10
Wild Awakening 1->5
Tamer 1->10
Sandman Trap 5
Get one of each passive first, then max out True Sight, Wild Awakening then Tamer. True sight is a guaranteed damage boost so we're getting that first. Wild Awakening can help Tamer activate so we're getting it second, then Tamer last because we can trigger it more reliably. After that, DPS skills are complete, you can now get points in Sandman Trap to help crowd control Boss summons when Boss Hunting or climbing the Endless Tower. From there, you have the freedom to choose whatever skill you want. You can get Trap Mastery so you can get some INT in your build, or you can go back to the Archer or Hunter tree to pickup skills you didn't have points for.
Blitzer
True Sight 1
Wild Awakening 1
Tamer 1
Hunting Assault 1
Deterrence 5
Wild Awakening 1->5
Get one of each passive, then max out Deterrence and Wild Awakening. From here, your build determines which skills get more priority. If you're leaning towards arrow damage, you can max out True Sight and Tamer. If you're leaning more heavily on falcon damage, you should max Hunting Assault then put points in Trap Mastery to further increase your damage.
Falconeer
True sight 1
Deterrence 5
Hunting Assault 10
Trap Mastery 10
That's 26 skill points to get all the relevant skills. From here, you're free to get any other skill. Maybe get Landmine since you already have Trap Mastery and the INT to make it deal good damage? Sandman Trap is also a good candidate for Crowd Control.
Trapper
True Sight 1
Landmine 5
Trap Mastery 10
That's all you need to be an effective Trapper. This is why Trappers usually splash Falcon damage into their build, lots of free skill points. I highly recommend going Trapper/Falconeer so you have a backup when you have an earth element target.
That's it for this week! The Skills section is finally complete! If you have any criticisms/insights on my assessment on the skills, please post a comment or reach out to me in the ROM discord.
