The Mo Long counter Advent Calendar - Day 14
The team: Avaris Harmonia Dias
Usable against: Mo Long Perna Reviver
How it works: I'm sure most people have seen some variation of this comp before, so I don't think I need to go into too much detail. Harmonia tanks Mo's S3, and uses her own S3 to heal herself and weaken Perna. Avaris cleans up the weakened Perna and she cannot use her passive to revive nor get revived by an ally.
Your 3rd monster is a flexible spot that can be any non-fire support healer and/or cleanser that you can pick to counter specific revivers. I chose Dias to as a dark tank to try to draw some aggro from Amarna off of Harmonia. The last thing I want to happen is for Amarna to land a brand on Harmonia. And despite Dias not having any healing skills, you can think of his passive damage reduction as a source of sustain as well.
Against Betta, I like to use something with a healer with a strip like Bella or Mihyang. If your Avaris doesn't have great runes and need some extra help killing Perna, bring an atk buffer like Chasun, Fran, or Kona. Or for general purpose just pick your favorite leftover healer/cleanser like Delphoi, Lumi, or Triana.
Strategy: After Mo Long uses S3 on Harmonia, use her S3 on Perna to weaken it, allowing Avaris to finish her off. Note that in the video I did not do this - I could have ended it much earlier, but in order to simulate a case where something goes wrong and showcase the hardiness of the team, I let her live for a bit. Normally you should always kill the Perna when given the chance, you don't even need to land a def break on her since she has low def anyway.
Runing considerations:
Avaris - regular DD build with moderate speed and some additional tankiness. I like to aim for +10k HP. If he is too squishy then an enemy Elad will be fully capable of killing him with a few procs. If you are using a support like Bella who has a def break, you can speed tune him to go right after it, but otherwise he does not need to be nearly as fast as the build I have him on. Shield/will is ideal if you can pull it off. Also, this is a fairly obscure note but do NOT rune him with revenge. If he kills someone with revenge then his passive anti-revive is NOT applied. I used to him have on revenge and have lost before by a rev proc killing Mo > Elad full res > full strength reckless assault.
Dias - this is just an R5 Dias.
Harmonia - Vio/Nem support build. Prioritize tankiness (both HP and Def for maximum eHP) over speed. At high levels, this means that I consider 40k hp (before towers) to be on the low side, but 200 spd to be on the high side. Get at least 60 res so you max out on res with Avaris lead.
Seriousness factor: 8/10. Harmonia teams, especially if you bring along another strong healer/cleanser, is probably the safest way to deal with Mo Long if you plan on giving them a turn and tanking his S3. But as always, anytime you give Mo Long teams a turn there's always a chance of strip/stun ruining your day.
