Hey! I'm always entertaining the idea of bringing power to my camping set up. What are your opinions on a Battery/Solar set up vs. a good ol' generator.

I love the battery options, but generators these days are so small and quiet it's hard to not consider one too.

Anyone been to Repsol recently? I haven't been to a gym since march and have no idea what it's even like right now. Is there enough space/equipment to get a safe workout in? and do you have to book ahead? Hoping to just drop in today.

Cheers in advance.

For the most part I'm a rational, reasonable thinker, but I have had one very spicy/crazy conspiracy theory I would like to share (It's just an idea, let's have an open discussion about it).

Basically it comes from connecting a few odd dots. The first dot of oddity going on right now is that Elon Musk is launching 30 satellites per day in these long "Starlink Arrays". The intention of these satellites is said to bring internet to rural areas, but many are contracted by military and defense companies, and I think anyone on this sub can begin to speculate on other reasons for launching thousands of satellites this year.

The second dot is Aliens. Aliens have been very prevalent in pop cul

Anyone else loving the mix of lower traffic, nice weather, and closed off roads for bike ways? I've been cycling a lot and realizing that Calgary is actually super bike accessible and having a ton of fun.

Bike Gang.

It means that the City has deemed it acceptable to open a new business, with many unregulated shared surfaces. It also means that the hospitals must be OK and ready to take the influx of scooter injuries again this year.

If that is so, take the tape of the playgrounds and allow ALL businesses to open in their own capacity, with their own safety measures.

edit: I'm not against the return of scooters, I'm just saying that if SCOOTERS are back, then I think it's time to reopen all business, with precautions.

Riddle me this... Person A has been in isolation for 3 weeks now, no symptoms, feels great. Party B has also been in isolation for 3 weeks, no symptoms.

Party A, and Party B, meet up and hang in a quiet location, with no other human interaction. Then go back to their respective isolation for another 3 weeks.

No germs were spread in this scenario, right?

Hey long weekend coming up and I really want to get out of town for a bit (Will be practicing strict social distancing still don't worry).

I would love to hit a quiet, safe, secluded camp site. So where is your favorite spot?? Any ideas of new places to check out?

The COVID-19, and our lock down response, is all very new. Cases are rising and I'm beginning to wonder if we can really stop this, or if it's an inevitability that we will all eventually be exposed to the virus at some point.

If that is, what should we do? I want to try and promote people to be as healthy as possible right now so that if we do just need to go "fight" this things, we are prepared to do so.

Thoughts?

Just testing the waters to see what everyone things about 5g cell service eventually coming to Calgary?

It will offer faster mobile speeds, at the cost of a significant infrastructure update, and concerns about health because 5g is on a much more powerful frequency than the current LTE network.

Excited? Scared? Don't Care? Share your thoughts!

I'm currently building out my first off-road camping vehicle and would like to take it to the Ghost PLUZ, and Waiparous areas. I'm a little nervous having never been to the area before (although I do have some offroad experience).

Is there a community or meet up groups for off roading out there? I'd like to meet some like people and maybe even have a guide for my first venture.
